KingRatt grows G-Breath by Good Genetix

Welcome to my test grow of G-Breath by @Good-Genetix . I was lucky enough to be sent a pack by Sebastian at @GoodGenetix .

The genetics are his G Auto x Mendo Breath Auto. I dropped the bean 3days ago and it was up today so calling today day1! It will be in a tent with 5 other strains but this journal is dedicated to just G-Breath! I germinated the seeds in Root Riot plugs pre moistentened with distilled water with BioAG Ful-Power at 15ml per gal, ph’d to 6.5. they were placed in a humidity dome with led for a heat source, temps stayed at 80°f for 3days until 5 out of 6 seeds were up. G-Breath being the first up. I immediately got everything potted up in 5gal fabric pots filled with my mix of 50/50 Fox Farm Happy Frog and Mother Earth 50-50 Coco-Peat with an extra 30% perlite added in reamended with BAS Craft Blend and Great White mycos and bennies and cooked for the last 3mos. I am keeping the tent at 75-80°f and 75-80%RH aiming for a VPD of 0.70-0.88. This time of year it’s the best I can do in the big tent lol.

Thank you Sebastian :folded_hands: this is going to be rad! I’m very grateful to be able to run and test this awesome @GoodGenetix G-Breath for you. If there is any specific data I can provide during the grow just let me know. I will be documenting all of our standard 7 milestones being Germination, Sex Confirmation, Early Flower, Mid Flower, Late Flower, Harvest, Finished Flower and Final Observations. I’ll have weekly updates as well as anything of note that changes. Anything else you need just let me know! Can’t wait, stoked!!!

I enjoy Sebastian‘s YouTube channel and photos of his genetics look solid. I discovered fast buds because of him. I thought he owned the company. :joy: I look forward to watching this . Happy growing!

He left fastbuds a while back, @GoodGenetix is his new company and he’s doing some rad work. Check out this Meet the Breeder interview we did with him about his company Good Genetix!

I’m fully aware of the story! When I got into growing I was watching his (unbeknownst) old fast buds videos. They prompted me to buy a bunch of fast buds seeds. And then I found out about how fast buds totally did him dirty and let him go in the fallout over that ridiculous breeder survey. The surveyor saw what was happening, which was Instagram and discord fast bud tribe was voting in droves, but only for fast buds. Largely because that’s all they know. So they implemented a rule that you had to rank vote 10 breeders for your vote to count. Unfortunately they didn’t see the problem coming beforehand so implemented the rule after the survey started. Fast buds does an incredible job at marketing themselves and have a cult like following of people who know nothing but fast buds so they’re not connoisseur’s of breeders. They’re growers of fast buds. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. Point is I like Sebastian and I plan on buying a few packs of seeds to support him.

Wow, guys, seriously, thank you both so much! :folded_hands::green_heart:

@StonieBologna, I really appreciate your kind words and your support. It genuinely means a lot to me, especially coming from someone who has been following my journey for so long.

I spent quite a few years working with Fast Buds, and while that was certainly an important chapter of my life, Good Genetix is something I’m building with my own vision and values. It’s about the genetics, of course, but just as importantly, it’s about the people, the growers, and the community behind it all.

And I absolutely understand what you’re saying about the difference between following a brand and actually understanding breeding. There are so many talented, passionate breeders out there who don’t necessarily have the biggest marketing budgets or social media presence. I think they deserve just as much recognition, if not more, for the work they put into their genetics.

That’s also one of the reasons I love communities like Autoflower Network. We can actually exchange experiences, learn from one another, discuss genetics, and let the plants speak for themselves rather than getting caught up in all the hype.

@KingRatt, a massive thank you to you as well, brother! :folded_hands: Not just for running the G-Breath and documenting the whole journey, but also for introducing people to what I’m doing with Good Genetix and sharing that interview. I really appreciate you spreading the word and supporting the project.

I’m genuinely excited to see how the G-Breath develops in your garden, and I’m looking forward to following the entire grow. And please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything along the way.

As for those other genetics you mentioned, you’ve definitely picked out some of my favorites! I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of them whenever you get the chance to run them.

At the end of the day, I’m not trying to build another hype machine. I want to build something that stands on the quality of the genetics, honest communication, and a strong community of growers who share the same passion.

That’s exactly what “From the community, for the community” means to me. It’s not just a slogan.

Thanks again to both of you for the encouragement, the kind words, and the support. It really does mean the world to me, especially while Good Genetix is still growing.

Much love and respect to you both!

Growers Love! :green_heart::seedling:

G Auto crossed with Mendo Breath makes for an interesting auto structure. The Mendo side brings that stocky indica frame and dense bud structure while the G Auto keeps the flowering timeline manageable. That 50/50 soil and coco blend with Craft Blend should give enough aeration for the roots to spread fast through early veg without needing supplemental feeds for a while.

Sebastian’s work with auto-to-auto crosses at Good Genetix is worth following. The Permanent G and Triple G lines have been getting good feedback in the test grows so far.
