Bob's Journey into Hybridisation and Genetics - For Dummies

Seed harvest - Sooty Bride F2 (Mephisto's Wedding x Coal Miner's Daughter) x (Mephisto's Wedding x Coal Miner's Daughter )
Next up is my Sooty Bride F2. This cross was made in honor of @Newman’sOwn, who's the creator of the Sooty Bride, all be it accidental. I'm still in debt with you my friend. You don't know what you've given me with the regular seeds. Something we, thirty years ago, frowned upon. All we wanted where clones and have a nice crop after 5-6 weeks. And absolutely no banana's or it halved in price.:shrug:

I don't know if it's because it's F2 cross that there's so many seeds, but I'm very happy with the results. ♥♥♥

The app said there's 436 seeds to play with. So together with the other three crosses I made I'm going to put the parcels top of the tent so they can dry out for a couple of weeks. This will give me a couple of weeks off from growing and contemplate on which of the four crosses I'll be running in the next weeks...Food for thought.

Anyway,

I whish all you breeders as much fun as I had this summer!!
I've got over a thousand seeds to play with and like someone here on AFN said, free the seeds, so I might be pursuaded to donate a couple of them to nature while onwalk with the dog in the spring time

Regards,

And again guys, if you have questions, please don't hessitate to ask, myself or someone more informed (thinking out load @Sawney_bean) will surely answer your questions. Oh, and there are no stupid questions, ok? :thanks:

Regards,

I have kinda a soft spot for ‘accidental‘ yet viable fire ‘lemonade’!
its kool that this yall share genetics and shit (i got a visit from one of @Sawney_bean ’s Fairys that left a bundle under a good Archer’s pillow allegedly) because yous guys n gals breed with purpose and intent and know how the tools (male/female - pros/cons) work to achieve those purposes and intentions. Esp the ones who put the back cross time in..

all this to say, its so Pimp, that even though a @Newman’sOwn cross (creation et al) was an accodent. It still produced fire that you want to work with it in YOUR Projects!
:smokeout:

Not Accidental, haven’t heard some one say something is pimp in a while :haha:

I interpreted wrong, but in my def, the context lead me to that conclusion. My ‘gear’ is accidental, but still counts as F1 crosses. Im top of the world Yo.

i got ya bookmarked to read through it.

Im burning through sir Sawny_Bean blog (pssst) atm, a good read so far. Dude is got the love and im about to put his (and my own arguably) skill to the test this fall when i get my garden going for the season. From what I see from fellow AFN’ers like Hope2 growing/posting - along with the people posting in the thread too - some of his gear has really got me excited.

Btw.. when it comes to breeding I’d say “Yo Pimp-Hand Strong” with them plants. I enjoy your breeding ’content’ its a nice vicarious lane to drive in some days. :passit:

Hey Breeders and wanna breeders :toke:

Today I've pimped my growtent a bit.
Removed the table, fan and filter went outside and filter got replace by one inline filter. I just think something went wrong. Eighter I ordered the wrong filter or they sent me the wrong filter. I'm saying this as this thing looks humongus compared to the size of my tent, lol

Had to turn the tent the right way up to be able to connect the filter to the setup without using to much conduit. It does feel strange that the door opens to the left side all of a sudden, but hey...I'll get used to that I guess... 🤞
Look at all that verticale space I have gained...This amounts to approx. 40cm which I have more now. I really hope that expelling the air from the topside of the tent doesn't affect the great temperatures I've been having... 🤙

Tested all systems and we're good to go...
Next thing to do is get some soil from the greenhouse, which has to be mixed before I fill all 16, 3.5L pots. This means a trip to the local plant store for some quality soil and a stop to the fishing shop for a couple of bags of fishing worms. The compost worms will come from the wormbin which has been doing overtime and is chockfull with worms...And the rest will come from the remainder of the soil I still have left after filling my pots this spring. All the bennies are inside and with the help from BioTabs, I'll be able to add all the neccesary products to get this soil started. 🤟

But that's for another day.
