Bob's Journey into Hybridisation and Genetics - For Dummies

Good to know. But then again I have many crosses close together. Wouldn't want no seeds mixed together as they fall out the calyx's and those that fall will be dead anyway as they will fall in the tray below, which is filled with water... mhmmmmm...
Or, I use a piece of aluminum paper to wrap around the stem and that way create a funnel as I did while catching pollen.
How do you catch them brother?
I don't really mean that I let them fall out then gather them . As soon as seeds show they are ready to fall I then harvest them and straight in the dryer.

With my first attempts at seed making, it was really difficult for me to let the girl go long enough for them seeds to mature properly. It just bugged me how ugly she was looking ! :funny:
Maybe if someone reads this later on, they'll know to try to avoid that the tendency to want to chop sooner! It was tough for me lol

It's easy to spot a ripe seeded flower now. Sometimes you have to dig into the caylex to see if the seeds are ready with some strains. My WHITE gen3 caylex are so thick the seeds have detached but still inside.

Yeah, the sour stomper I did, had tiny calyxes and you can easily identify when the seed was ripe enough with a lot of exposure. Almost like she was gonna spit them out! Lol!

Me too. Still is. But one I just chopped yesterday, I left the pollinated bud on the plant and moved it indoors by a window to dry out until it dies or the seeds start looking ready. So I'm getting better!

Last time I just let the plants do their thing, until they finished and started to dry up. Was expecting way more seeds, but then the pollen I collected was minimal... :nono:

This time though I have loads of pollen. :woody:
Most flowers were spent and dropped what remained inside the flower as soon as I touched the plant. The cloud that fell down was quite amazing and that's just the remainders...so I've placed this lot inside my pantry, which is dark and has a relatively normal temperature (25°C/77°F).
We're currently having a heatwave where I'm at with temperatures above 35°C/95°F. The only advantage is that humidity is at an all time low of 25%!!

Day 41
Hey growers :toke:

Day 41 inside the greenhouse and these ladies are loving their big pot. I still prefer the front one as it looks more ready then her hind sister.

Yup, one big cola in the making :hump:

The Double Grape x Toof Decay is starting to look very Sativa and is looking very hungry. Tomorrow I'll be dividing another 10L water with Bactrex between the plants. :cool1:

She's gonna make satellite buds all over the plant...Maybe a largish main cola

Hi mate, ladies looking tiptop, besides that last one which has clear signs of a N-deficiency, big fan leaves turning yellow, from the bottom and upwards. I would personally get her some extra VEG/growth nutrients, with a lot of N in it. Bactrex is nice, but if I'm not mistaken only contains beneficial bacteria and such. Keep it up! There is some more sun and hot temperatures on the way :hothot:
