I severely torture my plants but really, some of it is genetics, some is training. That girl was a photo and she was about 8 weeks there. I'm experimenting though with applying similar training to autos. Manifolding is generally considered an advanced technique but I like to make things difficult. Would not recommend for a first grow but hey, I learned a lot.
I used to do a lot of training but it never lead to a better harvest. Now I just top above the 4th node ASAP and let them grow. I only defoliate late and low for airflow to prevent bud rot. Amazing how the plant seems to know how to grow all on its own
I probably wouldn't go nearly as hard with the training if my tent was bigger, tbh. But when you're trying to maximize your efficiency and you've got a really small footprint to work with it it becomes necessary. If you've got space to let them go all natural, I say let them go lol.
I call that the "female touch". Got to love that attention those ladies get from you. Although you can be a bit with your LST, but you're not the only one here on AFN to do that... @JSH1973 & @Vapo are also a couple of those lady abusers
