hiya I’ll repost my post from intro thread
:
Hiya! Indoor grower from late 90’s ( and 80s humboldt trimmer) who had to put it away for 20 years due to *ahem* “issues” . Anyway thought the corona housebound time was good time to start again, but my how things have changed! All this great info!!! None of this existed in my last run. Forget autoflower and even fem seeds were just a twinkle. I pulled my rig out of mothballs ( 400 hps) I just popped a few autos last week and have been absorbing the changes in the game. I’m sure I’m gonna have a lot of questions , but for now things are mostly good.

great community here.
—————-

so now here come the questions ( and may act as a semi grow journal.)

like I said first autos, but some long ago past experience. These popped for me on 4/28. ( set in a 70% light warrior 30% happy frog 8 Oz mix on 4/25) 2 cheese, 2 gods glue, and a northern lights ( thanks MOC for the couple NL freebies). Anyway mistake #1 I made right away ( according to conventional wisdom) is I didn’t pop them in final container, I popped in 8 Oz Dixie cup :)

So after realizing on day 6 right before dark period I decided to get them out of the cups ( thought I was early but roots were about to bottom of cup already much to my pleasure) into 2/3 filled 5 gallon fabric pots with a 50% happy frog, 40% ocean forest, 10% light warrior ( in place of perlite, also added some extra light warrior in transplant hole as to give them the majority of “home “ they were In dixie cups). After reading all the transplant no no’s I was scared , but they didn’t seem to miss a beat . I’m on day 8.5 now and they continued to grow almost immediately ( luckily I think I handled transplant well)

so here comes my first question .

these are all 8.5 days
Here are the 2 cheese

I’m not thinking they look 2 bad at all. Consistent healthy color throughout. And sturdy

here is the northern lights:

looks to be very much inline with the cheese progress. Maybe a couple spots.

Here is what has me pulling my hair out.

the gods glue (aka Gorilla glue #4) these are by far the fastest growers and still are but there have been leaf anomalies and brown spots on occasion. But all new growth thrives! Keep in mind that all 3 different strains have been treated exactly the same for last 10 days. Is this strain Difference? I have to think so. But was wondering.

anyway I look forward to your wisdom feels great to get back in saddle again!

I don't think you have to worry. One of my 3 Rhino Ryders had stunted first set of serrated 20200323_220703.jpg then she had a 2 finger 20200329_203703.jpg think it was just genetics. Here is a recent pic week 7 20200506_193311.jpg she is a bit shorter then her sisters but she seems healthy.

Good luck and welcome back

Thanks man. I know enough not to worry , but then you can’t help it. ;)

Ok. 10 days later ( day 18.5) . 5 days ago I had to move them out of basement grow tent because we had an emergency here with backed up water drains. And was flooding basement. They replaced the leaky pipes but now due to code we also have to have a new drywell dug. Should be done this week, but plumbers will have to be in basement and I don’t want anyone poking around a grow tent in progress. I moved the light, the plants, and a couple fans into a corner of spare bedroom( couldn’t move tent it was such a pita to setup I fear taking it down, and I don’t want to do it again next week either) when all is said done these will have spent about 2 weeks out of tent, but...... they are growing . These pics are 18.5 days. 10 days after OP.

again: growing 2 cheese. 2 GG4. 1 NL.

the 2 cheeses and two GG4’s showed preflower at 15 -16 days.

amazing the characteristics of the strain difference . Sorry pics suck under light. Will get better but im loathe to fuck with them.

the 2 cheeses stretched the hell out. Twice as tall as GG4.

But the GG4s are just as healthy if not healthier but little compact shorties with giant fan leaves.

the NL is is an NL , gonna be shorter than rest but a Bush. ( I used to grow photo NL 20 years ago, looks about right)

if you look at the two cheese tops ( bad pics) there is some leaf tip curl on new growth and also some slight canoeing on some new growth. I’m trying not to freak. Every deficiency went through my mind but I * think* that their stretch compared to others brought them too close to HPS? ( 400 watt) they were like 12-13 inches this morning . ( those 2 cheese are twice as tall as other 3!) I raised the light to about 17 above the cheese.

so couple questions. Is that the likely diagnosis all other things ( soil, watering, temp, humidity) being equal?

2) I’m 2 days from starting week 3 . Time to feed? Especially with pre flowers? ( I’m in 50% ffhf, 40%, ffof, 10% light warrior).

I have FF liquid trio ( grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom) as well as FF open sesame, beastie bloomz, and cha Ching.
The latter 3 granular nutes I’m not entertaining at this time obviously . We will see when I get further out.

but during week 3 I’m thinking to at least start on a very mild big bloom?

thanks!

what you do if you were me?

Day 38.
Finally got them back in tent...
I was wrong about the NL. She stretched hard in last 3 days and now is taller than everything ( but I’m guessing a couple/few weeks slower than the cheese and a week behind GG4) I’m amazed , simply amazed at the speed of the cheese plant I cant see those going past 65 days or so)

cheese are 2 in the back. The two gg4 in middle, the NL in forefront.

some minor claw issues and some minor yellow tips on a couple, but overall seem healthy and I fear over correction. I understand claw can mean too much nitrogen, but I haven’t been feeding them anything but a tablespoon of big bloom per gallon every other watering. ( no N) I’ve been holding off on tiger bloom but cheese might be ready for a kick

Nice healthy plants, welcome to AFN. It doesn't look like you need much help, but there is lots to be had here. Good luck with the grow! :pighug:

i just thought i would say hello you have a great selection in there and cant wait to see how you do come harvest time

Thanks guys. Much appreciated.

it’s been so long since I’ve gone here. I’m pretty happy so far. I did a lot of reading here and absorbed “ less is more “ with my first autos. To the point I think I’m under feeding and under watering ..... but .......They seem happy so......

The one thing I didn’t do intentionally was LST any of them. I figured on first grow back I would just let them fly so I could learn how they grow. ( because I have more beans of each.... so next time....) It’s made for a crazy uneven tent/canopy though through the 3 different strains . And I have the gg4 shorts like 5 inches propped on bricks!
