After a successful foray into hydro, I'm looking to get something as chill and low maintenance as possible going to give me something to play with, but not take up much time or effort. To that end, a super soil based organic grow fit the bill. I've done these in the past with Kindsoil, but it never had enough nutrients in it to make it to the finish line and I had to supplement it to avoid deficiencies.

Just dropped four seeds of Mephisto Sour Crack in a couple 1-gallon and 2-gallon fabric pots.

I'm using Roots Organic and a bit of Biobizz Lightmix as the base soil and am using the Roots Organic Uprising(Foundation, Grow and Bloom) line of dry organic nutrients to charge the soil. I'll be top-dressing as needed with these nutes if I feel they need it and watering with a compost tea from time to time.

I mixed each gallon of soil thoroughly with 1.5 tsp of Foundation, 1.5 tsp Grow, 2 tsp Bloom along with a bit of Great White, earthworm castings, Mosquito Dunks and perlite.

I filled up the pots to the top with this super soil, then put a solo cup's worth of Biobizz Lightmix in the center so the seedlings don't get burned at the beginning. I watered the pots with compost tea to kickstart the life in the soil.

As time progresses, I plan on periodically throwing in multiple different strains in 1,2 or 3 gallon pots of super soil to keep a perpetual grow going. I'll be soon adding one each of Mephisto's Sour Bubbly, White Train and Toof Decay. After that I'll be adding a Sour Diesel by HSO along with Fastbuds Girl Scout Cookies and Pineapple Express as space opens up. I've got a 4x4 tent with the ability to pump out anywhere between 200-1000w of MH/HPS, so I expect these girls to be able to put on some good weight.

I'll be back with pics once I have some progress to show. Come sub up and join in the conversation! I love sharing in other people's thoughts and suggestions on my grows, they have been real life savers at times!

Looks like your covering all the bases, will follow along.

Looks good auto, except a little light on IPM, mosquito dunks help but until I started adding some quality neem meal & karanga meal and diatomatious earth to my mixes I had occasional thrips & fungas gnats that hitch hiked in with the RO soils, if any bugs survive they never get a foot hold and are easy to wipeout just my 2 cents..

I have neem oil and diatomaceous earth as well that I can lean on as well if need be. The mosquito dunks have worked better than anything else for fungus gnats for me before.

Give neem meal and DE in your soil mix a try my friend, it adds/feeds your micro heard and really helps prevent nasty bugs, vs reacting once you have them... If you run soil you will eventually have nasty bugs

Subbed! Roots is a pretty good mix.Did you cook the soil first or just jumping in.? In smart pots I have had very good success with bottom dressing my pots along with top dressing.I also spike like the Rev recommends with Jobes organic vegetable spikes. They have an npk of 2-7-4 and are just bone and feather meal and are super cheap.I only use two per pot and seems to be enough to get a gram per watt under leds.I also hope you are mulching which is SUPER important for a living soil mix and top dry with good ewc’s.I love the strains you are growing and PE gets very “gassy” grown organically.Sending good grow vibes your way auto!
