Interesting conversation here this AM.Lot's of vets have found some semblance of peace here in Alaska.
I've thought long and hard about Alaska....but the wife likes Maine, so that means I like Maine.... Not to mention....its probably a close second to Alaska for doing what we're thinking....

Similar to the private island, I always thought it could be interesting to see if an old off shore floating oil rig could be converted into a mostly self sustaining community type setup. The poetic irony of a bunch of hippies taking big oils tool and turning it into a floating commune just tickles my funny bone for some reason. :baked:
I know you can buy old Navy ships, also.....Mobility!!!

good idea! I compost my own and Sharon's shit, along with lots of fish waste, doggy doo gets spread on the land. compost rules the garden. Almost every municipality in the developed world mixes feces with water turning it into toxic sludge. Just waiting for that next high water event to pollute the environment. Is this brain dead or what?
