I heard that some Regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan cured Hashish (years of curing!) was considered connaisseur stuff like aged wine is in most of the world. You had to cut the oxidated outside and would only smoke the perfectly cured center of the block.

Anybody tried that out already? Would love to hear a first hand account...

I found a chunk, that had fallen between the cigarboxes in my long term storage cigar humidor. It did seem to taste better, but it was still moist and soft, having been kept at 65%rh

Was it protected from sunlight? At what temps was it stored? How did the Taste change?

It was protected from light, stored at 65%RH, and never got over 70 degrees F. It is hard for me to describe the taste, other than it was a bit sweeter, richer, and smoother on the hit, but it still made me cough my head off. It was a little harder to meter my hit, because it hit so smooth, I had more than I could handle before I realized it. It takes some getting used to.
Hope this helps.

I find that the longer I leave my honey oil to cure the stronger and better tasting it gets:smokebuds:

Thank you Hogleg. Will try it out sometime. Would be nice to do a side by side smoke comparison "fresh" hash and hash cured for 6 month or so.

I have a basic humidor myself. Did a little Tobacco (Havana red, and a local variety) growing last fall and rolled my first cigar with honeyed water last weekend after a long fermentation.

Never thought about curing honey oil nice idea! How exactly does the taste and high change for you?

I find that it makes the oil taste like the richest hash ever, much more smoother to toke but with a more of a crippling exhale.. Im not sure if its the curing of thc or if it is the slow dissipation of any gas chemicals that remain in the oil, but imo im pretty sure it makes a big difference. I find the high with bho hard to describe as its such a killer on the mind, iv made a joint with some cured bho, passed it around 7 people and nobody wanted a second round, some say it gets them tingling others basically mong for the night. I find my vision go's dark, and my thoughts go into overload.. Not an everyday smoke lol..

Maybe somebody with a bit more knowledge on the composition of bho would be able to say whether it is curing or it is just getting cleaner..

I also know the longer I leave my thc in my spacecase the stronger it gets..

just finished off a chunk of what looked to be temple ball hash, it was stupefying . never been so stoned. look up Nepalize Temple Balls, as that sounds like what u were originally talking about

Thanks for your replies and thanks for sharing! :toke:

For me temple ball hash is very fine charras(hand rubed hash) mostly from Nepal or hash mixed 7 to 1 with Opium. May well be that they used to cure that as well.

I read that the Active Ingredients of Cannabis products like Hash and dried, fermented Buds degrade over time when not stored in the freezer. If you maintain a relatively cool environment it slows the process. I don´t have any experience with Honey Oil so I can´t say if it degrades as well over time. The parting gas residue aspect could be an explanation why it is more smooth in this case but maybe there is some curing going on as well. When I have some Honey Oil at my disposal I will put that to the test.

Its the first time I hear that Hash or Honey Oil gets actually stronger over time when cured/stored. I originally thought that only taste and smell were enhanced by the curing process. Anybody else had the same experience? Maybe the high is transformed more to the stoney side of things?

I am very interested in the change of taste and high of Hash and BHO when it is cured or stored in controlled conditions over a large time like 6 months or so if anybody has tried or wants to try something like that out. Please chip in.

PS: LOL I know what you mean when you say 7 people and nobody wants a second round. BHO is almost psychedelic! :D
