FarmerJake’s Raised Bed

I’ve got 7 plants in the bed for attempt 3. Been spinning my wheels in this grow tent since it’s inception so hopefully this grow comes to fruition. Already seeing some blushing between veins on leaves so nervous the bed is still maturing. The clover is looking healthier though so maybe that’s an indicator of soil health
I’m not even sure what strains are in here or where but Chemdogging, Toof decay, a SODKx SOH freebie and some homegrown crosses, maybe an SSSC auto elephant, a freebie called stone fruit from multiverse.

Yeah, man, your cover crop is a very good indicator of your soil conditions. Those roots go very deep.

OK, what's the deal with the girl that's in the gray plastic container thing?

That’s the airgap made out of a tree protector for my solo cup, she’s hungry for sure

Why the solo cup air gap thingy? Just curious.....
To keep the roots contained to the cup, the roots hit the air and die. This ensures a fair competition with an 18oz root ball limit for all competitors.

Worth mentioning my 4x8 bed is empty right now as I clear cut everything after finding Thrips rode in on my native soil and started hatching recently. Can’t catch a break so I whipped out some earthboxes and roots organic bagged soil and got a plant or two running in a more typical manner so I don’t run out of weed. Maybe after a few weeks of fallow I’ll try again in this big bed and hopefully the insects will be gone and maybe we can finally bring this setup to its first successful harvest:rofl:

I received thrips in my room recently when I got clones from a buddy. I don't see thrips coming in with soil really but usually on a plant (they can lay eggs inside the leaf) or from outside environment.

I applied to applications of Monterey Horticultural Oil (Suffoil-X) 3 days apart. Then I brought in SF Nematodes (also will deal with fungus gnats very effectively) and Swirskii, and I haven't seen anything since and it's been over a month and I can't find any leaf damage or bugs on my sticky cards. https://www.kisorganics.com/collections/target-thrips

Adding some photos of the plant progression. These are all the same plants as they've grown up. Last photo was earlier this week.

You might consider ditching the cover crop, especially if you already are dealing with pest issues. https://www.kisorganics.com/blogs/news/why-cover-crops-dont-belong-in-indoor-gardens

Couldn't get the last photo to attach in my previous post. These are the same plants this past week. Not autos so I didn't start a thread in the forum. This is GG#4. I would like to do an auto run at some point in the near future though!

Cover crop was ditched, and its a hard pass on anything but full removal and fallow for me. Are you posting links to a website you run? I’d prefer if you didn’t self promote your website
