If only every seed grew into a beautiful big girl, it would be great, but also would take away a lot of the hard work we growers put into our plants. I currently have 2 X chemdogging about 38 days, honestly could not look different, one is big and bushy the other lanky with hardly a flower on her, but this is what makes it interesting, chasing the perfect specimen.
You know in your mind everything is right, lights, feed, environment, but I think we need the ulcer causing, " what have I done wrong" plants to remind us, never become complacent and always strive for perfection, even if like me, it still seems a long, long way off.
Enjoying the journal by the way, plants look great. Carry on chasing the perfect harvest.
I was having a good look at her tonight, just before my head hit the pillow [as you do], to see if there were any clues as to why she's the slow girl on Campus ... and it was only when I rotated the airpot so that it was right next to a Devil Cream that I noticed that the Killer Kush 1 appears to be transitioning into .... [shock ... horror] ... A REDHEAD!!
Maybe some funky pheno, or I have REALLY screwed it up.
I wasn't even aware that there WAS a red pheno in the Killer Kush strain. Does anyone know if there is 'red' in its genetics?
Or have I managed to dial in some kinda serious shit deficiency? ... which might also explain why its running late to class ... but there are a couple of leaves - and only a couple at this stage - which when side by side with the Devil Cream, definitely have that purple thing going on.
I'm going to give her the examination of a lifetime tomorrow morning, when I'm not relying on my post-midnight, tired-as-hell eyes ... and even try and grab a good pic of it.
EDIT:
Could this be the 'blue' coming through from the Cream Caramel side?
New day, new thinking.
It's amazing what a night's sleep can do ...
Regarding the discovery of Killer Kush 1 with a few purple leaves ... it might be;
PROBLEM: a genetic trait, i.e. recessive pheno ...
SOLUTION: no action required - celebrate the differences.
PROBLEM: excess Nitrogen resulting in Phosphorous lock out ...
SOLUTION: the recent flip of the feeding regime to a Bloom diet will be addressing this
PROBLEM: Phosphorous deficiency ...
SOLUTION: the recent flip of the feeding regime to a Bloom diet will be addressing this
PROBLEM: my eyes are fucked and I suck at identifying colours ...
SOLUTION: no known cure.
... basically, I need to chillax and let things take their course.
IF it's genetic - THEN that's what the plant is, and I should enjoy its difference.
IF it isn't genetic, THEN the recent feeding schedule is addressing the situation anyway.
The rest of the plant is healthy, no other plant in the tent is suffering, and the environment is strictly regulated and in 'the zone'.
Breathe in ... 2 ... 3 ... 4 ...
Breathe out ... 2 ... 3 ... 4 ...
... and relax ...
My mind is already looking forward towards the next grow ... need to plan early - I hate 'last minute' ... and spontaneity really does my head in.
DEFINITELY going to run some Sweet Seeds in the next batch, just need to make a decision which one(s).
The choice? Cream Mandarine XL Auto, Green Poison Auto, and Sweet Trainwreck Auto.
Also been slapped about the head with a Canna Gauntlet by @Corgy for a Grow Challenge which I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to do ... it's just trying to co-ordinate schedules.
I'm also still awaiting delivery of my new lighting. It's starting to feel like I'm not going to have them by the time the Challenge needs to kick-off ... bummed out about that. Would love having my ass kicked by Mr Autopot and his Jungle of Ganja!!
... but unless Santa shuts down toy poduction and allows the LED Section to take over the Workshop for a few days, I just can't see my sparkly new Campus Illumination arriving on time.
