Indoor WVR'S Auto Grow

fine group of ladies you got going rebel :D

Andy to answer your question... I do use Happy Frog straight up and I haven't found any issues doing that other than I use more dirt and it does tend to be heavy indeed. So, in the future if I do get some perilite to add to it I will mix in a bit to save on it and lighten it up physically. If you mean by "compacting later in the grow" by it getting so dense it's hard to water or the water doesn't seep in right away... I have an issue with that hear and there in the beginning but never towards the end. It gets pretty airy toward the end for me.

Thanks for the info! I've previously done around a quarter to a third perlite in my mixes and it's worked well for me. I think I'll do the same with the Happy Frog and see how it goes. It definitely cuts down on the soil you have to buy, and the extra drainage gives me more peace of mind that I won't overwater.

I've got half a bag of FFOF on hand also, so I may experiment in some pots with a 1/3 FFOF, 1/3 FFHF, and 1/3 perlite.

Thanks Sniper and Kudo! :smokebuds:

Hey Andy! Yeah that sounds like a good plan with the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 mixture. If I had the option I probably would too. I think I will pick up some perilite and go 1/3 perilite and 2/3 HF some time soon. I think Joe Dirt has done that mixture in the past and has had great results. I think any combos with perilite, OF, & HF, whichever way you prefer to mix, would come up with good results. Best of luck to you man! I'll come check your thread out soon! It's great to see you back to growing!

I haven't seen a mix yet that I wouldn't use 2 parts mix to 1 part perlite. There is probably one out there, but I haven't used it. For me, heavily amended mixes like FFOF and FFHF almost seem to need the added perlite... they are very heavy without it, IMHO.

I was all set to do picture updates last night and then our Satellite internet went out... Lovely Solar Flares! So anyway here's some shots of the girls!

Also important note... As much as I LOVE the Happy Frog... I can't afford the gas to get it anymore since my local dro shop closed down... SO I had to come up with a new plan if I want to keep on truckin' so I bought a bail of ProMix BX and I think I'm about to change up my nutes again. I am a bit bummed I have to change up my grow style and I'm nervous starting something new. But, I'm excited too so wish me luck!

i had a similar problem with soil i went to lowes in Dec and all i could find was some cheap non nuted soil so i mixed my used ffof and added some dolomite lime.

any smell on that syrup x speedy g yet?

Sweet pics, WVR. You should be fine making the switch to Promix. JM and a lot of other growers use it & should be able to answer any questions you have. I came very close to switching to ProMix and pH Perfect nutes myself, but I still have plenty of FF nutes on hand that I need to use up first.

The girl's look great Rebel! I would be more than glad to help you with the promix bro! Thats all I use my friend! Green karma sent your way Rebel!
