Like others said,its basically what you described. You can use EverClear or rubbing alcohol. I made some the other night. Took the trim and ISO out of the freezer and covered trim with the alcohol. Shook like hell for about 20 seconds, then poured into a clean jar, filtering through cheesecloth to remove the trim (you can use whatever you have as a coarse filter) then filtering the liquid again through a standard, disposable coffee filter. Then I poured it into a shallow dish, with a fan blowing over it so that the alcohol could evaporate. Was WAY easier than I thought and the hash is full melt.

oh yeah...I think EverClear is more like 160 or 180 proof...we can buy Bacardi 151(proof) here but not EC.

i made a batch of bubble hash out of sweet trim from blueberry and atmosphere, i used a single 120 micron bag, ended up with about 5 grams of golden kief, then ran a large batch of just leaves, and ended up with 5 to 6 grams of green kief. not as good as the gold , but still has a kick.

Yo Reb this is what I used yesterday bro ...courtesy of Goauto .....so we drying right now and I did 2 runs ...2nd run is like u state milky looking .....haven't scraped yet ...but the shit is quite lively to wake up too ....thought the old lady was smoking already .....shit woke me up ....so ill see what happens around midnight tonight ...I hope it turns good ....from what this dude says some plants just don't cooperate with Qwiso

Thanks bro! Maybe I need to filter it twice... Use a better strainer... I don't get the milky thing tho... Don't understand where that comes from or how it happens... Unless it's picked up through the coffee filter.

Grinder all day long but my good grinder with mesh has gone for a walk after a party but i know now what keif is lol i used to call it dust

Sweet Si! Love my grinder bro... Wouldn't go without it! Keif is much like dust or pollen... similar in texture and appearance. But man does that stuff go straight to the brain! I love sprinkling a nice pile in my hash pipe and firing up... After a few tokes I'm buzzin' like a bee!

I use a space case... The "titanium" one. By far best grinder ive ever had.... keef build up is crazzy fast in compariosn to others that i have owned.

Hey Dude! I been smokin' too! :smoke: I have a Cosmic Grinder. 3 Piece that comes apart with a nice trap on the bottom. It does build up keif very quickly. Especially on that Dank!! Sounds very similar to mine. I've had this baby for 6 years and it's still going strong. Every time I scrape the resin off the spikes and cylinder it looks brand new. Then I love getting it all full of resin and keif! :smoke: That stuff kicks your ass when you're dry and haven't smoked for a few days!

Thanks Brotha! That sounds Identical to what I was doing minus the cheesecloth before the coffee filter... Where do I get cheesecloth bro? EC is 190 Proof in the unbanned states such as Maryland. You can get it full proof there. Here in WV they do sell EC but they dropped the Proof to 151 not too long ago. The Wife used to get it back in the late 90's early 2000's so not that long ago. Some states such as OH banned it all together. Grain alcohol is pretty much moonshine to me! LOL I just love that you can make killer hash with it. Once in a great while I'll take a shot or a sip while I'm trying to make hash... LOL Get all hot and instantly buzzin'. But I couldn't drink more than that! I'm not a drinker at all... I love my bud!

That's cool that you can even get your hands on EC bro! I didn't know that different states had different versions. You can grab cheesecloth anywhere...Wally world, hardware store, grocery store. You can usually find it in the paint/stain section or near baking supplies in a grocery store. Check out that thread when you get a chance, some good pics of the process and the finished products. :thumbs:

Then you get the trich heads and I suppose that you could filter the remaining liquid through the coffee filter afterward, just a thought? I have the bags with the screens, Ideas??? hey Insert, I dont want to jack Reb's thread, but with QWISO you just have to remove the plant matter from the liquid, since the trichs actually dissolve into the alcohol and will flow right through the filter(s). You could probably use the largest screen from the bubble bags as a filter to remove the majority of the plant material, and then run it through a coffee filter, but no need to use the smaller screens since the good stuff is actually dissolved in the liquid.
