Why Mephisto?

That is one of the main reasons that I like Mephisto, the consistency. When I read the descriptors I at least have an inkling about what to expect. Obviously shit can go sideways with any plant, that just part of the game.

Don't sleep on Twisted Tree either. Still crushed that I had to cull the AMR that I was running when we found out that we had to move. It rivaled anything that I've ever grown. Maybe even better. Absolute monster. Had to cull a Jean-O too, but it wasn't that far along. Definitely getting both of those back in the mix ASAP.

I'm super impressed with my Jeano stuff this run, some more than others. But theres 3 of the 5 strains I will definitely run again. The Duke, Kush Kush, and Straw Dog.

That’s one of my Dukes. The less impressive of the 2 I grew. Amazing colors and big compared to the other plants in the tent. Grown in .75 gallon pots.

Not sure how you guys got a negative vibe from me letting someone know my question wasn’t “just one MORE” thread about hype so I’ll try to use my words better. I like it here, not trying to make enemies. Im just a 57 yr old hippie growing for the first time hoping to smoke what I grow. I jumped into it not caring what it looks or smells or tastes like as long as it’s stony, I just like smoking joints and getting high. Since you all care about that a lot there is a plethora of knowledge here and I’m not looking to trash my chances of learning from you guys because youve forgotten way more than I know. Your pics are inspiring and I can only hope to match one later in the year. I’ll continue to seek advice and post my grows so newbies can learn from my mistakes. Not a negative dude so please don’t assume I am. Peace

Great post. I’m just finishing up a Mephisto/Jeano run of 12 plants and some of jeanos stuff is just as impressive as Mephisto.

That’s not gonna get you far here. We’ve all replied and given you our opinions trying to answer your question. If you’re content with ILGM seeds then keep buying them. I myself wouldn’t waste my money on them. I can get seeds sourced from the same place they get theirs for $1-$2 each. They’re gonna grow you out decent smoke, depending on your skill as a grower.

Your best bet is to just buy some Mephisto, run them along side your ILGM seeds and see what happens.

As I also said, I never bought ilgm seeds, they were gifted. I’ve only purchased Mephisto. No wonder y’all think I’m negative, you’re not reading what I’m actually saying lmao. I promise to make myself clearer in the future!

I think I actually have Duke seeds. It's a lot harder lately to run certain things lately since we moved and I don't have the 4x4 up and am just running 2 in a 4x2. I used to run both with the 4x2 as my veg tent. So more of a perpetual thing. Layout here is different and not sure if I want to go back to the old tents - 4x4 and 4x2, or just get another 4x2? Time will tell.

ANYWAY, I used to try to mix it up. Say run a couple "well known" breeders and a couple more "indie" breeders at the same time. Fun to see it play out. My first run back in this new place is the Meph Walter and a Brother Mendel. I guess Mendel is sort of an "indie" breeder? But going forward I'm going to try and pepper in the indies with the established, better.

@GreenBean my girls are night and day since your feeding reply. I think that’s proof that you can comeback from not enough of something and maybe not from too much. I’m sure I affected the yield/heighth but to see it bounce back to a vibrant looking plant was a great visual learn for me. Perfect example of why I’ll continue to post! 3 days ago she looked like she had metal leaves sitting on a magnet haha!
