I love Octopots hands down.
But that comes with a few caveats and reasons.
Some background. I grew for many years using a Bubble ponics system I bought of the web with great success. But I had easy access to water which made the weekly reservoir changes easy. PH balancing was always an issue.
I then switched to DWC and also had great success. But again had easy access to water for the weekly water changes. But Again PH balancing was also an issue.
I moved to a new home and then went organic, water only soil. This is about when I switched from Photos to Autos. Of course my Helicopter style ensured I over watered and stunted them lol. But I stuck with it and eventually dialed in my watering. I had so so yields and the daily watering was problematic for me.
So I began searching for a low maintenance, quiet, system that required less hands on and no weekly water change outs/draining and mostly no potential leaks. Leaking water is an absolute no where I’m currently at.
This is when I found and began researching Octopots and Autopots. I decided on Octopots as I like the hybrid nature of this system.
I purchased a 6 gallon version and gave it a go. I was rewarded with no stunting as they water themsleves. I started using AD PH perfect to deal with potential PH issues. I only had to water every 4-5 days, via the reservoir, although I check on them daily plucking or tucking leaves as needed and just spending time decompressing and enjoying them.
Well I was rewarded with 22 zips from a FB OG kush. I’ve had similar results with NO and TT.
I have found my soulmate relative to growing and my growing style. But it did take some time and effort to find “my” style. But it has been so much fun and rewarding to experiment. Sure I failed and I sometimes had subpar results but I took everything in and learned from my mistakes.
I’m currently in a no grow state so I’m on the sidelines watching all of you that can grow and enjoying your success!
I encourage all new growers to experiment, research, and chat with folks that use different systems. You will eventually find the system for you and will never want to buy Dispensary bunk ever again.
