As an outdoor grower, its a no brainer for me.
1. Size - they stay small so wandering eyes keep wandering
2. Though small - the average plant puts out 1oz. in a tiny space. No more lanky plants requiring constant trimming.
3. Variety - can grow multiple strains at once for variety and breeding purposes.
4. Fast turnaround. Some quick math shows that you can generate a sustainable product; fresh, all year long in a very small space.
5. Safety in numbers - pest or nute problem, or something similar? You didn't just loose the whole crop.
6. For outdoor growers - Who wants to wait until Oct/Nov for fresh herb? Have multiple harvests and be done before anyone is looking.
7. Perpetual outdoor growing for those that hate high electric bills!
8. For some reason - they seem to be easier to grow. Probably due to the fast flowering - less time to screw something up.
9. Easy to calculate when to harvest. No more worrying about rain, overcast days, or cold fronts. (I'm in the south, so what I consider cold, other's will laugh at)
10. Depending on strain, trimming the harvest is a lot quicker with one main dense stalk that makes everyone envious! Plus havinga harvest every month is easier than doing it all in the Fall.
I could go on and on......I still grow photos, but autos keep it all running year round.
