New Grower Why Auto Flowers?

I have my own reasons, some of them might be considered silly.
1) Let's face it, they're cute :wiz:
2) I actually like having a variety to choose from that doesn't make my teeth feel like they're falling out and keep me wondering for 45 mins if I shat my pants. There is such a thing as too high and I feel photo developers have lost track of the subtlety of various types of high and just go for the knockout punch. While there are knockout autos there's also a lot of people developing them for personal taste or fun and that leads to a variety of highs that are fun to try.
3) Allegedly higher background cannabinoids. I only say allegedly as I'm parroting what I've heard on here without a link or proof but for medical uses autos have naturally higher background cannabinoids which makes them more useful for treating conditions. I have a nasty one that I know for a fact MI5 helps with. Lets just say there is a large magazine rack and a bong next to the toilet.
4) Guerrilla Growing. Pigs do fly, for us here their flying season ranges from august into october. Not only are a lot of autos tiny in comparison to photos making them harder to spot from the air, but if planted at the correct time, they're chopped and down before anyone is looking. Rippers, LEO, hunters scouting out spots, mushroom hunters (like me, I've found some this way) None of them are out there before I can chop a plant down.
5) Easy to breed/seed. It's so easy to make your own custom cross or further inbreed and customize your own strain that it's downright silly.
6)novelty

All that said I don't exclusively grow autos. I also grow photo plants and love them just as much. Don't ask me to choose a favorite, I don't favor one of my children over the next (LIE) I see no reason why a person can't be happy growing both or why anyone would want to hate on them. Don't like it? Don't grow it! People who can, do. People who can't, hate. Doesn't really matter who likes them or doesn't, they're here to stay in a big way.

Mr. piggy my favorite one is the next one

Besides many of the things already mentioned, size, speed, stealth, etc. I like to grow autos because I like variety. As most daily smokers like myself know, tolerance can become an issue when smoking the same strain all the time. Over the past couple years I've grown a variety of auto strains and have built up quite a stash, about 35 strains at this point, some photos but mostly autos. I rarely smoke the same strain more than 2 days in a row and never have any tolerance issues.

Yep, variety is the spice of life. All things being equal, I'd rather harvest 3 different strains yielding an ounce than one plant yielding 3 ounces. My stash isn't as big as Muddy's, but I've got around 10-12 strains jarred up & it's great to have a mini MMJ dispensary at my house. :D

very nice post Mr.Piggy!!...you hit the nail on the head with this:clap: one!!...

......????? the suspense is killing me bro....... what is it?
Big Buddha Automatic.

It's parents are Northern Lights, Bonkers Male and Mexican Ruderalis and when it's grown organically in batmix it's like having an orgasm in my mouth.

I'm currently growing some with mineral mineral nutes and no batmix to see what the difference is, but all of the strains I've grown she's my favourtie by far. I also find I have little tolerance for her so I can keep smoking and still get more stoned.

for me, i guess you would say it has to be auto's. i grow for my pain and sleep problems. and i cant afford the dispensery prices, so i have to grow my own. and after trying photos indoors in a limited space it just takes to long and the plants were to tall and had to be cutback, i ended up with a descent crop, but with autos it take half the time. and i can keep a perpetual grow going where you cant with the photos because of there light requirements.(12/12) and only room for one tent thats on a20/4 cycle all the time!:peace:

Yup, same with me. One room, 20 hour light cycle, two tents, all day long
