New Grower White Widow Auto Flower Grow, Looking for Advice/Tips

Weekend update...

I skipped xmas weekend by accident. Since then I added about 2 inches of FFOF on top on the four corner pots. The middle plant is very short, growing pretty good otherwise about of branches and flower sites in a short space. I've been giving it some Fox Farm nuts in low doses as an experiment. See what happens to the little guy for the learning.

The trellis is about 8-9 inches above the soil. The tied down branches or pushing up a bit. I still have a few weeks and I think I'm going to need the second trellis before I'm done. I probably should have pulled out the middle plant before putting up the trellis, but I simply forgot. Even if it takes up "too much room" This is proving to be a better grow than the last.

Its Friday again...

Alot of growing is happening, not sure how much taller I'll let them go before the second trellis.

I've been giving the small plant in the middle some fox farm trio in small amounts and its showed alot of new growth and is flowering nicely I'm glad I didn't take it out. Still giving the other 4 nothing but bottled water. One plant in the back corner looks like it might get some trio with its next feeding its lagging behind the others now.

Hi everyone, this is my 3rd grow with White Widow Auto flower from ILGM.

My first 2 grows took place in a 3x3 tent in a large basement. The temp is in the 60s all year round, dehumidifier in the room to keep it below 50% otherwise the basement would smell. We have a sump pump and a damp basement, when it rains the humidity would shoot up 70% sometimes. Had a humidifier and small room dehumidifier along with a small heater. No circulation fan, no exhaust fan. I was using pot for a pot grow kits, no nutrients just water. First tried three 5-gallon pots and only got about 2.5 oz on the second grow I thought I bought four 2-gallon pots stupidly thinking they were 3 gallons and I got just under 2 oz. Yes, I was skimping, being cheap, doing it wrong.

This is where I'm at now... 3x3 tent in a bedroom. During the light hours I keep the heat vent closed, the heat from the light keeps the tent between 74-78, depends on how often the furnace kicks on during the day, the room as a lot of day light shining in but after it gets dark the room cools a couple degrees before the light turns off. The light is on a 18/6 timer. Light off hours the temperature stays about 68, the house is set for 65 and the bedroom holds in some extra heat. I have both temperature and humidity controllers in the tent. The humidity controls an exhaust fan with a carbon filter in the tent and does a great job holding the humidity at whatever I set it, currently I have it at 60% day and 55% night, I feel like I should start lowering it, also controls a humidifier that is outside of the tent but the only time it seems to kick on is if I open the tent or bedroom door. The temp controller isn't connected to anything it's just to monitor. I do have a 6" circulating monkey fan blowing between the top of the plants and the light. The light is currently set approximately 16" above the plants which are 18 days from germination start.

Light - Platinum Led P4-XML2, it has separate blue, red and white light LEDs. I have been using both the blue and red together this time as I've read that auto flowers do well like that, last time I only used blue for veg and red for flower. I do not use the white light only because it adds way too much heat with both red and blue on.

Germination - I just soaked for 12 hours in water, placed them in peat pellets, after roots started to show I put them in the soil.

Soil - Fox Farm Ocean Forrest. 5-gallon pots, I've left about 2 inches of room at the top to recharge the soil during flowering. I don't plan on using any other nutrients for this grow but I thought I might experiment, one of the plants seems tiny maybe, he needs some help.

Watering - I just have been using bottled water, not checking ph, Last water was Thursday morning, gave 2 bottles of water to each. I have never been unsure about how much or how little to water

I've done some research about various types of training but I'm undecided as to what I might do. I really want to maximize this grow. Would like to get some knowledge from someone growing auto flowers who has experience with training them.

Any and all advice, tips, questions are welcome, I'll keep updating with pics and relevant info, I hope to get the most out of this grow, thanks in advance for the help!
I did only LST on autos until I heard that it isn't that risky to apply HST training as long as you remember that all plant milestones are hardwired. I just completed a grow with two females. One got mostly LST and one got HST and I was pretty brutal. Both plants got about the same yield, but bag appeal was much better on the plant that got HST.

So what I think I've learned is that you should try to get all of your high-stress training in between weeks 3 and 5 and stick to LST in the out weeks. But I'm still learning...

On average, how long until your autos start flowering?
The autos I’ve been growing start flowering around 17-20 days after they sprout. Is it good to apply HST during flowering?

During flowering, definitely nothing high stress. I've only grown a few autos and take poor notes (I'm getting better). I can tell you that the Double Grapes I grew all were flowering by day 30.

(I feel like 28 days is an average, but maybe that's because I also raise chickens.)

Using HST on autos carries risk the first time. I happened to have two autos of the same strain so was able to try HST on one but not the other. I think that's the best thing to do first time.

second trellis? why not raise the one you have and clean out some of the undergrowth? Never understood double trellising. What are the benefits exactly? I dunno, seems like a mildew magnet imo.
looking nice and healthy!

When your are scrogging, the first trellis is used to hold down all the branches, to create more bud sites, and the second net is used to keep the tops upright when they start getting heavy.
I do agree, that some good lollipopping and defoliation could be done.

Thanks for the advice.

I could easily raise the trellis and clean up the undergrowth. The flowers are not so big they are leaning over yet. I was worried this far along about taking off too much since I took a lot off with the first trellis, I didn't want to slow it down since they have been doing so well.

How many circulating fans do most of you use? I only have one but have been thinking of getting a second. My platinum led has four fans and blows all the hot air up, not sure how much it's really circulating with the tent fan blowing over the plants under the light.

Overall your canopy looks nice and even. Don’t be afraid to pluck leaves to expose more bud sites and the bottom of the canopy.

i would be blasting the underside of your canopy with PLENTY of air
. nothing worse than binning a whole grow due to mildew.
