New Grower White Widow Auto Flower Grow, Looking for Advice/Tips

Mid week update..

The 8 babies were moving along, and I decided to check the roots and they were close to getting root bound. So I choose 4 and put them into the five gallon fabric pots on risers and saucers. I picked those because they were closest in size to each other.

One still looks fairly sickly and I'll probably not repot it. The other 3 are doing good and should be going into DWC pretty soon because its time to start harvesting!

I got out the micro lens attachment and seen the first signs of amber trichomes. Some plants show more than others and I'm seeing more leave curling since I last watered.

I've got to set up the drying tent now.....

Week 11 update... Harvest Time!!!

Thats right I harvested. Every plant had amber trichomes on them, some more than others. I have one tent with 5 strings running across with each filled with the branches and buds of a different plant. Its beautiful. I harvested and hung them up Wednesday the 16th.

I have a exhaust fan and carbon filter with a controller, the humidity set at 50%, and is exchanged about every 2-3 min. Got a ceramic heater, humidifier and circulation fan going. Keeping the temp at 72 degrees.

I didn't get pic of all five plants before chopping them. The first two were not as healthy and full looking as these three. They had alot more yellow leaves and more soft buds.

This was the biggest fullest bud of them all. I did have plenty of buds nearly as big though.

And The I have the other tent.

I had to take the exhaust fan and filter from the first grow tent to put into the drying tent, I cleaned and set up the first tent now I'm just waiting for another exhaust and filter to arrive. Just FFOF and water so far. I decided to begin the mainlining process for the four babies in the cups as an experiment.

I'm already trying to plan out what seeds I want to buy for the next round. ILGM seeds have done fine by me, but I dont want to buy 5 10 or 20 of the same seeds when I'm gonna get more anyway, I'm not a commercial grower after all. I'd like to find a place to buy individual seeds at a reasonable price, Ideal like 7 different strains so I could theoretically grow 8 different plant types all at once. Future goals!

I'm kinda worried..... its only been four days of drying and the buds i am smoking now seems pretty done. Thats seems way to fast. Shouldn't it take at least a week if not two. One day they were soft and the next day crunchy hard. I really only checked a few of the big nugs in the front of the tent. The bud I'm smoking was just a little piece that I accidently cut off during harvest and laid it in the tent with some other accidents. I assume the big nugs would still be moist in the inside, giggidy, and need more time to dry? But how much is to much?

I've never gotten half of that from any plant - photo or auto. Very nice yield.

:pimp:

Oh yeah - I was triggered by 8 ounces. :crying:

It looked like sooo much more when I first chopped it down, not as impressive all dried up. But its damn near 2x the yeild of my previous two half asses attempts.

I'm going to use FoxFarm Trio this time around instead of recharging the soil and hope for more per pant yeild.

I feel like roughly 1.5 oz from a single plant isnt that great, I know its an auto after all.

I only finished drying and canned it yesterday and decided to try some and its nice. It tastes good, nothing harsh at all and it smells nice and sweet. The buds were not very tight, but it was solid, broke apart not crumble. I noticed when chopping and canning the big difference in the buds comprised of the tops, the general canopy level and the smaller buds under in how thick, solid and dense they were, I wish I would have had more cans to sort out the quality of buds, but I did separate the plants and have the cans labeled

I have them all in glass jars right now but I am thinking about getting something better for long term storgae. What do you guys use?
