Gnome Automatics White JEM/Black Dragon

I was asked for pedgree information so i figured id share a little bit of the WJ history

F1-F2 Mossy's Original Purple Jem line. Grabbed these and decided to have my first auto grow. first female was white, and quick. So i decided to roll them twice to get a lock on what i got the first go around. Same male pollen was used on first cross and second selection

Original Mother from the beginning.

F3-F4 was a cross to Mossy's Private collection called Budwider. This was an off line of the original JEM and was a pheno selection i chose due to the bud density and tric coverage, had lineage of DeepChunk in there for resin production

Off spring of the private collection for resin production and density

F5 Mom was selected from the above off spring that had traits of the original White Jem mother. Pollen was used from the f2 line of males that was saved.

Results of the selection here and BX to the f2 pollen

F6-honest and true IBL

Results of said IBL

F7- IBL again to lock traits

F7 Uniformity again....thanks to @briman grow skills

F8 are IBL to the same line at this point mothers and fathers were identical in structure with little varaition.

First F8 to be grown out by @Bromeo

Those are all beautiful plants!!

So i have had some time in the evenings to go through my stock and i have found something that i wanted to bring back to life. Its a line called fairy lights, due to its bud color and unique trics i really want to bring this out. I hope that i can get the smoke grey buds like i have in the past and i have a set crossed to the dragon. Once i start back up in the fall, this will be one of three that is started again.

Here is the OG mom that was crossed to the dragon.

Thank you very much its appreciated. There are a few years of work there and trial and error. I have had the pleasure of growing out a few others but have spent most of my time working on my lines and testing a few of the lines that @Mossy has produced other than the dragon. I have some old stock that i want to break out and take a trip down memory lane.

What do you look for in a male plant ,what characteristics make it desirable to breed?

It depends on where i am in the line. There are several things to look for, and like i have mentioned before dont be afraid to grow them out in isolation. If they are away from the females they are good to go. When i first started breeding i looked for vigor, stem thickness, pollen sack clusters and pure balance. nothing with off numbered leaves and speed. Height was also a factor i was looking for as well as the ability to take a little punishment. Once i started locking in those traits i started looking for smells small amounts of resin production and then branching to match the females.

Drying out the male pollen sacs and smoking them gave me a buzz, so i started looking for more that had the same traits. One plant at a time, also when i got more than three males i let a few of them grow out to select the best one there as well as the best female that was a match. some matched in smell, others matched in branching. Then one day things all started looking identical and smelling the same. smoke is almost always identical with a few here and there that are different.

So it IS true you can smoke the pollen sacks? I read it somewhere a few days ago and it started a big argument between the people (obviously it wasn't AFN) and I had wondered about it. I'm nowhere near close to breeding but would love to some day. I'm pretty much in awe right now. The fairy lights strain you were talking about earlier is stunning!

People can argue it all they want but I have actually dried the pollen sacs and smoked them. It's not a wonderful taste but it can be done. I did get high from it, not like super stoned but enough to tell I'd smoked. It was a good way to test the male for resin production. I'm an old school breeder, traits, visual queues, smells, and balance are what I look for. The human eye has a natural ability to locate balance and that is what I do. I've used the squares to try to isolate things but have been more successful watching and getting to know the plant.

Thanks for the info ,I would be lying if I don't some day put it to use ,mad props for skills and teaching.

Let's play a game called male or female.....

They look pretty damn similar right now bit I think the top one is female for sure if they are anything like the others from the last run
