Nutrients Which Jacks To Use

I dont understand.

Jacks offers water testing services. So if you are on tap, well, pond, whatever your water source, they will see what minerals are in it.

If your water is of good quality, and has enough calcium and magnesium, they offer their "Tap" line of nutrients, which is lighter on the nutrients that are normally stored in tap water.

This helps cut down on the need for using R/O water. If your tap water is garbage and your stuck using R/O, they offer a line of nutrients for that as well. By using the there tap water line of nutrients, I cut back on my R/O and calmag use significantly. And since my water offers lots of buffering through high CaCO3 I barely use any ph down, and never touch PH up.

Sorry it took so long to reply to you.

Thank you. My water needs to be tested for sure. I will contact them.

I went through my local AG college and they tested it for me, you need an Agricultural Water Test though, not a home water test. Jacks will absolutely do it for you! But if your local to a college or resource that does testing, they are all standardized. I emailed jacks my water report and they gave me the run down on it and what nutrients to use.

They also went over acids (ph down's) with me. As I said I have an abundance of CaCo3 which makes my water very alkaline. Some PH's down's can throw your nutrients into a tizzy, which I knew, and it was nice to see I was doing the correct thing. I've tried a few popular nutrient lines, and won't be going back to "fancy bottles," ever.

One addition I did find very useful to the jacks, is silicon. That's a whole read in itself, but most synthetic lines, and most soilless mediums have none. Silicon is not a required nutrient for growth, but wow does it make a difference in strength, nutrient uptake, and above all, really helps with fending off infections.

That's really helpful…and incredible marketing!
I use RO so figuring out which product was pretty easy.

I've done a few grows (hydro). Fox Farms a few years back and, this year, did two grows with Botanicare Kind. I've switched away from Kind and "fancy bottles" (good way to put it).

My Gelato (autos) grow had strange pH dropping issues and that led to an Mg issue that hit about the 2 week mark. Someone on another site helped adjust the nute mix, using an Excel spreadsheet, to fine tune the mix of Kind nutes. I got my feet wet in understanding nute ratios and nute levels and, after that, no mas.

Read the labels on your nutes and you start to get the idea that we're paying a lot to ship around bottles of water with tiny amounts of common chemicals. I considered MegaCrop and Jack's and went with Jacks.

I'm using RO so I went with Jacks 3-2-1 but, after checking the numbers in nutes worksheet, I went with 4-3 since I needed more N and K. My next grows will probably use 3-2 but the Epsom salts provide tons of extra Mg. I think 3-2 is sufficient.

I will have to find a cheaper source for water testing. I will call around here tomorrow and try to find one. Thanks everyone.

I was watching a Bugbee video on Friday and he said almost exactly the same thing. I was using Silica Blast with the Kind mutes and I’ll definitely keep using it with Jacks.
