Ok budelee, i have to ask a few questions.

How much bud per pint of eth?

I need to decarb it, i thought

And it needs to be really dry before starting?

Would you be able to give a rough estimate how much oil would come from a 1 pint extraction? 1g, 2 g? Will help me decide on one pint or two.

I want to do a small first run.

Thanks for the guidance and inspiration!

A pint may run a half oz.this depends on if you single or double wash,i only single wash as much as possible,i did start documenting the second and third wash with the same eth and this is an option to make the eth go farther,I do not weigh anything anymore,i fill the small "shaker"jars about half full of bud,not packed tight, when the eth is poured over it it will settle a bit so the eth has to cover the bud by about an inch..you do not decarb it unless you want to use it as edibles,,I have covered a drying process where its put in the oven at a very low temp to further dry the material but i mostly leave it in a bowl for a week minimum, this is to dry it as much as possible so there is less chlorophyll pickup during the wash..there is a "live resin" extract method with fresh cut and frozen but we can cover that later....the yield is not as improtant as quality so follow all the process and use the tips and tricks i have talked about to see where your first attempt puts you..remember this,my first series of attempts were not documented and i was "flying blind" using just you tube videos, the stuff was dark, green and nasty.I document for the good of the community because it sucks losing product or having a sub-standard extract.Document everything you do and if it works follow the same procedure next time,if it doesnt work, you will have record of what needs to be changed..track time of day, ambient air temp,humidity..time of drying material, time of soak, temp of pan during extract( i know u are using non heat but when u do get a hotplate, track temp),basically everything you can because it all plays a part as to how things finish..in a lab/commercial setting, the variables are eliminated allowing the same procedure and product every time, real world setting we adjust as necessary...im always here if ya need me..start small, then go in for the kill later...peace!!!

Thank you sir! I will be letting you know and document what i do. The volume question was to get a general idea to do one pint or two.
Will only do one first run.

Gotta read this thread again over the weekend. Plan on washing one night next week, single, and then evap the next morning. Its still warm here.

Awesome!! I do not have an extraction planned for this weekend, gonna take Mrs.Lee fishing in the mountains( friday night into saturday)..i look forward to seeing your results, your gonna kill it!!! I have to get another batch ready to germ, ive been having a terrible time with my germ/sprout rate lately and losing a bunch of seeds..bummer

Ohh, i so need to go fishing again. I hope that you have a great weekend!

I wonder why you are having sprout problems? Any ideas

it could be cause i didnt rinse the coco this go round ,,its killing me..ive had 100% germ/crack and start growing,40% just dont sprout once they are in the coco..i lost three fastbud seeds this go round..,im trying some rapid rooter plugs this time and hope for the best...

The coco is prerinsed and buffered from the factory..after i soak for 12-24 hours, they go under a wet paper towel and set at about 80 degrees under a cover???? All i know is its pissing me off,,i was sprouting the fast buds to get a co-journal going with another member...

Could you use a very small amount of peat where you drop the seed to keep it moist? Or seed starter mix? I dont use paper towels because its dark and moist in the dirt. Plus no handling delicate roots. Yeah that really sux!

I got 15 grams mixed budz drying! Ima using choice bud too

Do you remeber in which thread you show the complete procedure you use?
I have some fine EtOH I want to use for a small extraction. What do you recommend?
BHO is easier and I have the equipment, but want to learn a new lab skills.

Hey Dr. ,this thread will give ya everything ya need for a QWET or ETOH extract..etoh is short for ethanol..qwet is quick wash ethanol..if ya need more info let me know @Dr. Babnik
