Old Reviews when to use ripen

hello ive bought a bottle of ripen and ive seen that it's suppose to use it ten days before harvest, my question is : when do i know the time to apply the ripen. is it something to due with the trichomes turning amber or the trichomes turn amber after i apply the ripen?

General Hydroponics Ripen AKA GHE RIPEN

Ripen is a comprehensive plant nutrient used during the late flowering stage of the plant. It is specifically designed to speed up and enhance the ripening process, while increasing the content in active principles of medicinal, aromatic and culinary plants.

I have used it a couple of time mostly on Photo strains and a couple of times on auto.
This time WW photo i wait to the pistils is 80-90% brown, use ripen for about 8-9 days flush for 8-9 days.
But hey No strains is alike, some people want head high"cloudy trichs" some want couchlock "amber trichs"
So its a little hard to tell when to use it.
I just want to think fast and move slow:
