Aloha all you incredible beings I have a question for you. I have two candy kush autos who have passed the 50 day threshold. One auto has small tufts of flowers that appeared about four days ago. The other auto has no flowers and is shooting up, she is at 27 inches and climbing. This brings me to my question, well perhaps a few really;
Is there a protocol for when an auto won't flip on its own accord?
I have been corresponding with aknorthernlights who has an awesome amazon which is well over 100 days and still growing. I was wondering if others here have experienced the nonauto auto and what their experiences were like getting their ladies to flower?

I have a Blue Mystic that refused to go into flower. All she would do is show a couple very small pistols. i finally said enough was enough and stuck her into a small box that I had to give her 12 hours of darkness. I figured either it was going to flip her or she was going to get the trash bin as I don't have a real set up for a full 12/12 grow. After 5 days or so of 12/12 she seemed to go into pre flower. She has been back in the regular cabinet under 20/4 with the rest of the girls for a few days and again she seems to be making progress with flowering. She will be at Day 47 I believe today. If she starts acting funny again I will just remove her and start a new seed to take her place.

So try giving her a long dark period and see if it works.

Thanks for the advice hot bunz. I plunged my autos into total darkness at 6 this morning. I plan on running dark for 24 hours then I will go to a 20/4 lighting regime. Stay tuned for the outcome.

I had one that wouldn't flower after 50 some days. I tried a 48 hr blackout, and a week or two of flower nutes, to no avail - ended up having to go 12/12 at the recommendation of AFN staffers. Here she is today - ever happens again I'm running a SCROG

Yes but you add to the knowledge base. Perhaps there are strains where this occurs with some regularity. It appears candy kush by auto seeds may be such a strain. If others have experienced the manual auto, plesae let us know what strain it was and the outcome of the grow.

I am really uncomfortable ignoring my plants for a full day, but if this works good on ya. My girls are being starved as a reward for growing, I don't know how to rank that karma....ho I believe I am stoned.

I believe if an "auto" isn't auto it's not a matter of "the strain" it's a matter of poor genetics on behalf of the breeder as I believe is the case with my Blue Mystics.

Poor genitics because they didn't stabilize the phenotype I understand, consumers not communicating their issues to other consumers is sad. If folks don't buy it they won't produce it.

Sloppy breeding IMO, by releasing and seeds that haven't been thoroughly tested. Sounds like they may be F1 seeds and most will not auto.
Its a shame when people pay good money for seeds like this, the breeder should give a refund! I'd at least see if you can email the breeder and tell him whats happening with yours. Maybe he/she can help you in some way.
