New Grower What's the deal with SLOW flowering autos?

I think environment and/or the grower can affect things so that the switch from veg to bloom is delayed. I have two plants that are taking forever to switch to bloom. A Dutch Passion and a Dinafem, two reliable auto breeders. I am pretty sure me being a newbie has something to do with it. I am not sure what I might have done along the way that caused it, but I'm pretty sure I am what caused it.
ive grown dutch passion autos mate. usually veg for 7 weeks with me. nothing to worry about : )

You are probably right @lunarman. As newbies I can think of a couple of things with our environment that haven't always been ideal with this grow, like battling high temps for a week or two. I guess it makes sense that some plants are hardier than others and more forgiving of mistakes. That would explain why they all didn't suffer. Sure hope we get things all straightened out before we start the mephisto seeds. I will be upset if we screw those up.

Have a great day!

:xmas:

I forgot to record the birth date of these two but I am pretty sure I'm 90 days in and no bloom yet. Frigging crazy.
aye thats no normal mate. we call those photos lol. get em on 12/12 for a bit and see what happens

I have done several days of 12/12. And even a 24 dark day as well. Still doing the 12/12 hoping they will switch. Also bought a small bottle of Bud Igniter for $40 based on a local hyrdo strore recommendation, but decided not too open it and will return in. I don't see how it will force bloom. I am running the bloom nutes now too. Hoping the 12/12 and reduced N in nutes will make it happen. Also hoping that crying about this on AFN with a couple of posts like this will make the bloom gods take notice and do something!

ah well in that case ive got no further advice lol. fuck knows mate. i hadnt even heard of this phenomena till a few weeks ago and they seem to be popping up everywhere now. got some rogue seed dealers popping up due to the relaxation in laws maybe.

back to the thread topic though, a-train and budelee are the guys for training threads. dont worry too much about what to use. i just use normal string and tape and its never given me any issues. just mind not to tie knots around the plant and your good. tie em down as symetrically as you can then pray you dont run out of space cos they start growin shoots out everywhere. i went a bit ott last time and ended up with over 120 colas. trim day was pretty depressin lol

Ok I will check out their threads maybe dare to pick their brains. OMG 120 colas!!?? I can't even imagine. Our youngsters seem to be leggy stretchy things with big internodal spacing that don't bush out. We mostly get a main stalk with just a leave or two on very short branches. That's prolly why I can't understand tying down ... there's not much there to tie at the optimal age. Or is that because we aren't tying them down?? Kind of a chicken and the egg sort of thing. If there is only the main stem and no branches yet should I bend over the main stem and tie it down? I'm so confused LOL. It's just that all the pictures I see showing how to LST, my plants dont look like those.

get some pics up mate and lets see what were dealing with. 8F03A717-70CD-4BC8-B10F-31E085F56DED.jpeg62090218-F8D8-45B9-8DDB-1DFE2634A51E.jpeg that was my last auto. topped the fourth node off. that helps to force all the smaller stems to grow up. then just grew it out as flat as i could. only got 30” height wise before itd burn on the lights so had to keep her short. bending the main stalk down is a bit scary but just be careful and do it slowly an shel be fine. helps to use a scillica product aswell as it makes the stems more rubbery and hard to snap. both those guys are really helpfull so dont be scared to pop up in their threads. gave me a lot of tips when i started out. i dont really follow a system though i just chop off anything in my way and generally be as rough as i can with them. not the sort of behaviour you want to be throwing at them if their on the smaller side so im maybe not the best one to advise. ill find a-trains thread the now though and tag you up.
