hey guys and gals
how's the new years been so far? great i hope.
Just wanted to start a thread on what you thought was the best movie released in 2013? for whatever reason it may be.. good story line, plot twists, action packed, horror scenes.. whatever tickled your fancy.
And while we're at it, what movie are you most looking forward to this year?

For me Lone Survivor took first place as my favorite movie for 2013, it really hit me hard and gave me even more reason to go fight for my country, if one has not seen it i suggest it, truly amazing true story.

And what im keen for this year? theres to many to list to be honest.. But the new Godzilla, or 300, are going to be fantastic films!

Haha, Johnny Depp is a bit of a character! regardless witch movie it is.. Gotta love him

One of the greatest actors not to have won an Academy Award. It's easy to forget how many great performances Depp has had over the years.

This year has been a bit of a disappointment at the box office for me. The movie I enjoyed the most l, was Gravity in Imax 3d. A heavy dose of edibles before hand, and I was fully immersed haha. I did have some quarrels about the directing at times, and some of Sandra bulocks performance at times (that monologue... ugh) but all together it was a crazy and enjoyable film.

I am still trying to recover from the hobbits desolation of smaug. I cant remember the last time I felt such a let down. Abhorrent Film!

Films im looking forward to include The wolf of wallstreet, Her, And the new 300 if only for the guaranteed bad-assery

Gravity hands down for me... It was along the lines of 2001 and Prometheus .... Don't think I've ever seen a movie that rocked me to the core like that... It was a very spiritual film for me and really had my mind spinning about life, death, survival, god or no god etc... Fantastic symbolism throughout..... Maybe it was all the smoking and extracts that
Had me so tripped out in the theatre, as the person I went see it with was like
It was an ok movie, could've told the story in an hour and didn't get any of the religious deep meaning that I did....
Just saw American Hustle and in was FANTASTIC !!!!

There was profound symbolism and imagery throughout. I thought it was a very powerful experience as well. There was a deep metaphysical / existential / spiritual component to the film, which many including your viewing partner may not have picked up on, which is unfortunate because THAT was clearly the directors emphasis when making that film.

I want to buy it when it comes out but I fear it won't be the same without the full Imax experience, and I don't yet have a 3D television

HAHAHAHAHAHA "any" movie made with the missus is a good movie in my books.. I use the term ANY lightly though.
