New Grower What temps are too cold for growing (Celsius Only!

Rudys small ???? I have seen pure Specimen that were a head Bigger then me(176cm). They can grow Big in the Wild even. I would more think on this dry Earth they mostly sit on in Nature are less Nutrients so they go on the low mode.

If it was that big, its not very likely it was a pure strain. May well have been the spawn of a plant that was wind pollinated by another strain.

Well you got me there medic I can only go but what i grew 9 years ago and this one looks big compared so I was under the impression that rudies were squat little plants.

My tent, with 7 plants in flowering, got down to 37 F / 2~3 C the other night and all seem okay, but, I don't think that's really a good idea for most cases. If they're technically protected from frost, like in a tent or under a night cover, plants will survive cold better. It frosted and iced that night and killed a bunch of my regular outdoor plants. Frost and ice kills leaves :(

I've left plants, 2 Mi5s that were about a month old, on the garage window sill all winter just to see how the cold weather would effect them. Temps averaged low to mid 40s during the day and mid 30s at night with a few nights below freezing. The plants didn't die but they did stop growing. Once March came, temps started to warm and the days got longer, they started growing again. I eventually moved them into by outdoor box where they flowered and yielded 1.5 oz. each. I've also had some late flowering sativas where I noticed the same thing. They were grown outdoors and once soil temps were consistently in the low 50 and lower they just stopped growing.

Same here. I've found that once the soil temps get below 60F/15C, things slow considerably. When you get down around 50F/10C, the plants pretty much go into suspended animation. Again, that's the soil, not air temps. I had very cold temps in my tent last winter, and I was putting a probe thermometer into each pot to see what the soil temp was.

Thanks everyone for your input I'm going to keep a closer eye on my skunk and hopefully I can keep it up don't want the growth to slow down

I started my last 4 plants in a loft, 2 at a time, under a little 180W LED, no extract no proper ventilation to speak of, and coooold up there and I must say.. its the worst thing I ever did.. theyve been so slow its unreal.. at 5 weeks old they looked like 2 week old plants.. soon as I put them in the tent under a slightly bigger LED (300W) and recently the 180w LED as well, with a bit of air blowing round them and extract on and boom.. off they went.. needless to say I've given up on the loft.. did it in the hope of starting a cycle of 2 plants every 4/5 weeks but alas.. tiz not to be.. nothing ventured nothing gained and all that but at a rough guess I reckon the cold start has set me back weeks as well as ruining my plans to scrog this grow which im totally gutted about as I need to scrog to make the most of my little tent and Vipar LEDs yield wise.. just want them all done and down now so I can start the 2 Fast & Vast I have here in the tent in better conditions and scrog them.. want to scrap whats there now actually am so gutted about it but I wont give up on them.. I'll just learn another valuable lesson on 'conditions' :(

You still might be able to utilize that loft if you set it up better. Take a look at the albums on my profile. I've got pictures of my outdoor grow box. Something like that can be pretty easily built in any unheated area like an attic or garage. I use a fan controller that adjusts the fan speed to keep the set temperature. My LEDs generate enough heat to keep temps around 80 yet still have air flow. Space heater on a timer for lights out.
