I'd like to take about yeilds and soil brands and mixtures..... I've been using a 50/50 mix ffof and perlite works okay but really easy to mess up nute dosage and feel like I loose yeild I have some massive autos but if someone has better than 3-4 oz a plant with the occasional 6 I'd like to know what there doing that I'm not doing

I'm on pace for 400g in a 3'x3'
Have six autos but tightly packed.
I used roots organics soil, no nutes for first 4 weeks then smashed them with nutes. They did get nute burn but my last two plants are massive. I did add 25% perlite to the mix.
For me it's not so much how much per auto but how much in a given grow space. My space is 3'x3' I could have gone with 3 autos but I wouldn't yield 15 ounces like I'm gonna with 6. Maybe I could have done 4 and got 4 each would have been a stretch. IMO if your getting more than 4 ounces your killing it. Most ppl yielding that are using DWC, maybe some are using soil,
I'm actually changing to pro mix, I don't like not being able to add nutes in the beginning and middle of the veg cycle with autos.
Plus soil takes for ever to dry out when the plant is a seedling, I also plant the beans directly in the soil as soon as seed germs.

Was thinking of using biobizz at a 50-60%0and rest perlite 7 gallon fabric pots basically the ffof is to stong and I've seen better results with other soils but I've been doing okay I want to do better that's a pic from today

My soil mix changes a bit every season but it consists mostly of the following :

Homemade Compost
Homemade Worm Castings
Perlite
Bone meal
Vorganic Rock Dust

I try to add different additives now and and again of and when I can find some. If it's not in powdered form that I can add to the mix I'll add something to the compost pile. This season I went to fetch kelp from the ocean. I chopped it up and made a really nice tea. I took quite a lot a kelp and chopped it up and added it to the compost pile and when I watered the pile I added the kelp tea. Compost pile heated up quick and the temps was nice and high. The chopped up kelp decomposed quickly.

What do you usually yeild I've been getting a average of 3-4 oz per plant sometimes 2 sometimes 6 Ive been playing with mixtures with fox farm ocean forest soil and perlite my autos like a massive 7 gallon pots and 50/50 ffof/perlite it's been a great fail safe but is really easy to mess up in flower all it takes is letting the pots dry out to much and soil becoming hard and it's like they don't get nutes sometimes but the 50/50 mix seems to be okay Ive been tripping about the soil pH and was think I should try roots organic or biobizz soil next time I'm planning on doing a massive auto run so I have all the smoke I need for afew months and I can just work on my breeding in the mean time but I want to do something a little different than I've been doing I like the input I could really use some help as to best soil I could use for the least amount of money I don't mind spending money at all I just don't want to have problems like I did this round if you look really close at the picture the leafs on some have started to die and dry out turning brown and rusty colors I've been using Cal mag at 4-5mls per gallon start to finish that's why im accusing the soil lol pH or density lol

My yields is somewhere between 3 and 3 1/2 ounces. I have found that the more airy my soil is the faster my plants grow.

2 seasons back i did a grow where I used a 50:50 coco coir / perlite. My plants freaking exploded but the summer heat claimed them. I am planning on trying that again with the new season. This time i'll sink the pots into the ground

The drying out of the pots is a bit of an issue but I just use timers for my watering system. That way I don't have to worry to much about that. I bought a new auto water system because my last one was a bit old already.

*The nice thing about Organic is that you don't have to worry to much about the PH seeing that all the organisms in the soil will sort that out for you * - this is my own findings and this year will be the 1st time ever that im gonna buyback PH pen so please don't crucify me if I'm wrong about that.

Breeding is something I've been thinking about for years now and to breed with auto's is time consuming. I saw that seedsman is selling regular auto's but I still have to save up for that.

I see what you mean aboutique the leafs and unfortunately I am no expert but that does look like a PH issue. I wish I could be of more help.

I have also found that if the mix wasnt mixed thoroughly it might end up with pockets of incorrect ph clumps. If the roots go through there then ph can fluctuate.

Once again it's what I found during my grows

My roots fill the 7 gallon pots lol and I mixed and mixed before putting in the bags appreciate the info and I believe it is a pH issue but I can't be terrible because I think I'm going to harvest 3+ oz easy on the worst one but it could definitely be a over watering issue I use a pump with 1/2 inch tubing and a on off value to water my grow room by hand but you know how the old lady is when you ask her to water and your no where around lol

That's a nice yield with the issue that your having. Do you test your ph though ???
