any info on grow tents would be nice. im thinking of building my own but after looking into all the products i dont think it will be that much cheaper for the amount of work that will have to go in.

what kind of tent are you using?
is it light proof?
how are the vents?
does it hold your grow lights well?
does the tent already have the mylar attached on the inside or do you have to glue it on urself?????
how many exhaust/intake/circulation fans do you need?
how big is your tent?
are some brands better than others?
does the tent callapse in when from the negative pressure?

I highly recommend you visit greners.com, they post videos of the tents - how to set them up, what they look like set up, etc.

Go with a Secret Jardin or Grow Lab tent for excellent quality. There's tons of reviews for each on the site as well as detailed videos from the staff themselves.

I personally use a LED Wholesalers 4x2 tent that you can see the sides suck in with the airflow, it's built like shit (cost me $80 shipped) but holds my LEDs for me. It has light leaks, not the worst, but especially noticeable with LEDs in a dark room. If money had allowed, I'd of bought a Jardin or GL tent, without a doubt. Yes some brands are better than others - they use different thicknesses of material, different quality in zippers (VERY IMPORTANT!!!). Different quality in stitching, etc. The mylar or white plastic is already taken care of, no gluing. Setup is typically 10-12 minutes at the most, half that if you've already set up a tent once before. Do it the same as a closet for intake/exhaust. Typically the tent site will tell you how much the ceiling of the tent can hold.

Don't remember the name of it, But I purchased a 32 x 48" X 60"....mylar lined...adequate intake and exhaust ports with several lower sealable air ports. Frame is pretty sturdy, holding up a charban, cool tube...Mine is in a closet so leaks not an issue ( I grow mostly autos anyway)...double bottom liner is nice....
Having moved from a 'shop' grow to a tent grow.....my grows are smaller but just as satisfying...more controllable and still burnable!...Much easier to control temps with a tent inside rather thatn an outside grow room....

I use a secret jardin dr60 2'x2'x5',no light leakage, vents in either side, compact and a nice little tent for small spaces, can be assembled or dismantled in a few mins, cost me £75 :bong:

I have a 4'x4' Lighthouse tent.... Was $100... 4" and 6" vents... metal frame... no light leaks... also has 2 pouches built into the sides that I like.

Homebox XL (120cmx120cmx200cm)
White lined interior
2 big passive intake flaps, not light baffled but closable.
1 12 inch duct opening at base for fan input if used.
12 inch extraction duct hole in roof.
12 inch holes in sides to run a cooltube.
2 smaller holes for cables, one at top and one at bottom.
Roof holds up to 30kg.

I use
600w HPS on basic euro reflector.
Ruck extraction pulling 300m3 ph. - extracts to loft.
Passive intakes
Tent temps 25-30 C - Room temps 15-20 c

Only cost 130 quid brand new picked up from greens, you can get it a tenner cheaper if you have it delivered in the UK.

Don't see light leaks from the inside when in a room in daylight but you can when the tent is in a dark room with the light on inside the tent, you can see the light through the tent from the outside, just barely but when the plants get bigger you can see the outline of the shadow they leave on the inside of the tent. Looks awesome but not stealth.

thanks alot everyone. i ordered one of the cheaper tents because i planned to put it in my closet so i wasnt worried about light leaks. whatsgoodie the exact one your talking about. i finally got it. took me a while to setup because the instructions were WACK!! had to do set it up backwards. i finally get it up and its too big for my closet. frick frick frick. an inch and a quarter less deep and i was home free. they dont return opened items either. im just glad i got the cheapo instead of a really expensive one that didnt fit. so now im ordering a similar one thats smaller. like the old saying goes measure twice cut once. even measuring once would have saved my ass. at least when i move into a different place ill have veg and flower tents. i already have a ton of led's 90w 100w and 240w. So there is an upside somewhere in the future.

hey whatsgoodie. what kind of exhaust system do you use. im not sure whether to get the 4inch inline or the 6inch. it looks like the 6 might fit but some of the reviews on the site said that it was too much for the tent to handle. the 4 is so much harder to find. the only one that i found was 50% more than the six!!! 60$ compared to 40$

I just got a Lighthouse 20inx36inx5ft from gotham on ebay. It looks sturdy, feels sturdy. The zippers seem strong and durable and it has all the right vents and holes with all the proper darkening fabrics. So far, so good.

midnight toker have you decided what kind of exhause fan you are going to use. the new tent that i ordered is the same size as yours.
