Wet Trim or Dry trim affects taste?

Wet vs. Dry trim..
I've found no difference in taste. Dry trimming by hand is kind of a pita, That's about all I know.
I've hung whole plants, and just nugs. Neither had any effect on smoke. I usually only hang a whole plant if the humidity is going to be below 43%, so the moisture in the plant slows the bud's drying speed.

...I'm late to the party again, aren't I?

Lol Better late than never. I'm not noticing much difference either. I wet trim only because it's easier for me.

I'm new to all of this...so probably not the correct person to be posting, but from what I've read, it seems like it may have a lot to do a lot with how it dries. Leaving the leaves on slows down the dry cycle. My guess and only a guess, is that it may depend on where you live and your environment, whether created in your tent/room or actual environment. I'm sure that there are places that would dry the bud too quickly and you would get better taste by leaving them on to slow the dry. Then there are other areas where it is so humid that you have trouble drying the buds. In that case taking them off would probably help the taste since they would dry better. Can't forget to mention the areas where it's somewhere in the middle and probably wouldn't matter either way.

Just me overthinking this topic.

humidity is high year round here, so I always wet trim. Besides, it is way easier.

Sometimes, when my high is super focused I will use the very fine scissors to take what little leaf is left but to be honest the improvement is marginal. By the time I am vaping//smoking it it's already nicely cured.

The straw taste is likely from drying too fast. I had some that was too close to a fan when drying and had a straw flavor. The rest of it was fine.

I'm with you bud, wet is just way easier. I have done both way and only difference was difficulty of trim. Some say it tastes better if you trim dry not my experience. Maybe be worse simply because it's harder to get everything off and I would get some plain old leaf mixed it. To each their own, but for me i like it wet lol.

Imo so much easier wet, I do a quick wet trim then once dry do a final if necessary.. seems to help with flavor

I’ve done so many both ways. When u have a big harvest u can’t get to them all when they’re wet. Especially in the winter and humidity is way down. I’ve learned to do them both ways that I don’t care either way. Once they’re dry a gloved hand just catching the edges of the sugar leaf over a container is about as fast and easy on the hands as it goes. As far as taste so long as it dries and cures properly should be good of course if it was good to begin with lol.

I found a better end product when hanging the whole plant (minus fans) and then trimming dry because all my wet trimmed crops dried too quickly and got horribly brittle and crispy due to extra low humidity in my house. I also never manicure buds, the shaggier the better if properly grown and cured.

Perfect timing....

Today I dry trimmed my Bomb Seeds - THC Bomb

:amazon::amazon::amazon:

She was a "Very Big" Plant.

The plant was hung, upside down, to slowly dry over about 9 Days as a whole plant.

a few days ago I separated the plant into stems and gave them another day drying.

She has now dried perfectly.

The buds are reasonably heavy and dense, perhaps just a tad more airy than I aim for, but Hey Ho !

There is enough of them to be selective about the best buds, what to keep and what to Hash.

It is all about letting the plant cannibalise itself, feeding of the remaining food available in the leaf etc,

Drying will take longer, be more controlled, trics are more plentiful, and IMHO it tastes better.

A few pics from today.

She will not get weighed until she has been fully trimmed and manicured (about another day to finish her). But she will be HEAVY

As you can see "Bud Aplenty".... My fingers are crossed...

And very nice Bud it is.... Heavily laden with trics upon trics...

Even the sugar leaf is full of trics, so the plant gets trimmed and screened for kief over the "Trim Bin".
