Hi everyone! Just curious if you guys water until runoff? I'm only using a 2 gallon of HF and feed about 1.5L every few days. I dont get any run off but the pot gets heavy but i'm concerned that it's building up salt at the bottom. I hear others dont water until runoff in soil? Just wanted to get everyone thoughts/process on this.

I water very slowly and the first drip I see, I stop. But I don't use synthetics or acquire any build up.
I keep my medium light, airy and fluffy with plenty of air pockets for healthy roots. Never saturated.
Just what works for my grows. Good luck.

I used to water until runoff every feed but it's a pain in the arse, you could do it once a week or so but still a pain cleaning up waste. I use biotabs now so no need for run off. Starting the autopot now so no hand watering anymore

I can usually water/feed every other day. Lifting the pots if possible is a good way to tell. I also water them 1/4 to 1/2 the total water for the day and then wait for about an hour to let the water run through and settle where it will, and then do the rest. I use 5 gal grass root pots, and with 9 mature plants i use 4 gallons of water per watering/feeding.

I'm giving about 1.5L per watering every 3rd day but may be moving to every other day now. She seems to be drinking more and since the pot is smaller at 2 gallons. Maybe I should do 2L instead and keep the same schedule? I guess i'll have to test it out to see how dry it gets.
