Lighting wanted to upgrade to MH.. advice needed

If you really want a MH I would get a switchable MH/HPS ballast set up. I use them and love them. one ballast one hood , just swap out bulbs from MH to HPS flip switch and bloom on.
the ones I have are also 120v or 240v .

update:
ended up picking up a 250 w MH/HPS digital ballast dimmable.. with a 6in cool tube with a wing reflector, and a HPS bulb.. this will have great coverage for all three of my autos.. :dance: ill be installing it within the next few days, since the tube will be only 10in away from the canopy it should do quite nicely... was thinking of putting the velocity fan on the outside of the cab.. using outside air to "cool" the tube...and use a pair of 120mm fans stacked to exhaust cab air.. thoughts on that... or should i just use it to "pull" air from the cab and out.. basically how its setup now.. just install the cool tube between fan and exhaust.. and possable change my carbon filter to a reverse style.. free ups room within the cab... to fit this stuff.. thoughts?

Where did you get your light?

I.picked it up from the local hydro store.. they have used equipment.. they worked with me on mix and match kind of deal.. so I pieced it together... the ballast was used..(about two months old).. the bulb and cool tube brand new

That's awesome I need to get me a 400 watt HPS soon been trying to find a used one with no luck. I just finished building my new grow room and went a little overboard for the lights I have so now I must get either a 400 watt to use with the light I already have or a 600 watt.

The place had a 400w HPS cool tube setup.. ballast.. set with new bulb.. ( ballast used.. 4 months old, used tube) for 200... I paid 205 for my setup... I didn't want the heat of the 400.. and it was hps only...i wanted the digital ballast. Dimmable, runs both hps and mh, and it has a switch to go from 150, 175, or 250... then it has a setting which says "Super lumens".. the lady at the hydro place said... just keep it on that setting and ill be just fine... Lol..

Sounds awesome bro it would be nice to have a dimmable ballast. With me heat is not a real big deal my grow room is in my building and its starting to get cold outside so I can control the heat a little better this time of year.
