Nutrients Waira's next photo' op' with Biotabs!

:smoking: FDeee! In my threads, fellow gellies can post as they please :smokeout:.... especially juicy shots like that! Oh yeah, that little one looks burnished already .... That crazy myco shot looked like there was more white fur in the tub than on a Yeti's ass! :wiz: - amazing,.... I'm with you on the root inspection, maybe even float him in a tub of water to allow the soil to just fall away, and keep much of the system intact for a bit!
>> A-T' my Southah bruthah :d5:.... I'll tell you what, I'll try to get pics when they jump into final pots,.. but I tend to not take any chances! When I set the hole in the final pots, I use the exact same starter pot, so it fits perfectly, no shifting, crumbling, compressing,... I ease them out, hand supporting briefly while I slip them into the new hole,... Besides, they haven't had the full-on Biotabs myco-bacto' treatment and development in so short a time,.. but we shall see!

.... Meantime,... I'm looking at this semi-auto Fairybreath, they way it's growing,...and today, I'm officially bug-eyed- :eek1: I might be early to worry, but this compressed "ball" crown of newest growth is looking a lot like early sexing does,....

..... Soooo, 2nd seed started (needed to anyway), along with THSeeds Bubblegum as back up! Right now, I'm kicking myself for not just picking up that Cream Mandarine F1FV I was eyeing,... That whole line-up of Sweets is fantastic! :coffee:

Sorry that it took me this long to get in here. I should have been here a long time ago honestly.

Thanks for the tip to allow a post, promise i dont do it much, but i had to show you how well they are doing in the BioTabs stuff already. Ha yeah the ,yco shot was insane and i didnt expect that when i opened it, so we know that stuff is active.

Thats a good idea, ill let his base soak for a few days just to see the difference. Im really interested in seeing what happens. I already have a fine root system when i cut the rootballs, splitting them and you see nothng so i wonder if that still will be the case or if they will be more pronounced.

Now about that Pic, yeah id agree that one is going to be male, i know that crown all to well, it usually what i look for to pull them in sensi runs. That way i get them before any chance of pollen drop. Thats a drag hes showing balls but hey that is the game that we play when growing reg seed.

 hey now, that's my line!

---yeah man, this is no "official" thread, so it's open season on whatever! .... I figure the only way to keep most of the root system intact is to suspend the ball in water, and let as much of the soil fall away as possible,... I don't think any of the 'crobes form nodules on the roots, like N-fixers do,..? but the sheer mass might be tell tale!,...
--- Ah, good to see an experienced eye see similarly,... I kept wondering why it stayed short, kind slow to throw leaves,... FD this is a semi-auto, and I think an F1 cross, maybe F2? At F1, there should be no autos, right, between a full photo parent and an full auto parent? At F2, they start to show, at about 25% I think? ....Well, if I had my head outta my ass, ida noticed and skipped FBv2 altogether,... no room/resources for reg's just now,... So looks like the BBgum might be the sub'! Fingers crossed on the germ'- :goodluck: ... reaaaaly wishing I had that Crm. Mandarine FV now-.... check out the Sweet catalog here, 2017,.. there's a great bar chart in there showing appx. bloom times,... look at how much faster the F1FV's are! ...that Green Poison FV, 4 weeks man plus a day or few,... every one--- The full Auto isn't really any faster! And for the Sativa dom's like J47, one of their most potent, it's actually doable in many climates... :greenthumb:

I figured id steal one this time...:pighug:

Thats the thing, i never really have any roots to actually look at.

Here is the thing, i think that the rudi gene is stronger than we think. Its rare to have them in F1 but ive heard of it and @Mossy has had it a few times i believe. I think it comes back to basic genetics, and recessive traits. Lets face it, rudi is a genus of the Canna family, it had to start somewhere. So i think that there are times that a match up happens.

Kinda like my son, all and i mean all the boys in the family on my dads side are brown eyed. Except 2. My 1st cousin, and now my son. My grandmother was blue eyed, grandfather was brown, my father and uncle have brown. My uncle married a Blue eyed woman, and bam his first born son was blue eyed. Im brown eyed and married a blue eyed woman, boom first born son had blue eyes. The trait that was hiding in there from my grandmother made a mesh with the wifes genes and we got the blue eyes.

So things sometimes just line up and we get things that come out sooner than later. I plan on this winter to bring another photo line into the ALF, it will be indi of course and colored or at least have some color to it. Im in the process of getting some of those purple peyote seeds for the introduction...:pass:

@FullDuplex you ever ran any maxx yield or airpots. I ran a few solid pots in the beginning and got root systems like that. They roots tend to hit the edge then continue to grow sort of wrapping around the edges. Leaving the middle not as dense as i would like.

The intro of air pot with the dead ends causing the air pruning and i noticed the root mass overall was larger. Hit it with recharge a few times a week and it was insane.

Ill post a pic next one i take down

I have never ran them, only ones that i have made myself to encourage the root trimming. The thing is the mass that is "missing" in the middle, to me is a great thing. what that means is the 02 levels in the water that i am feeding is High. Most of the time i can isolate the original tap root, and from there its nothing but feeder fine hair roots, and that is what we want. The reason that you see the ones around the wall like that is because they have no where to go but back around as the pot is dense with the fine feeder roots rather than the large root masses.

Take another look at the root mass pics i posted. Youll notice the dirt at the top is in un even levels around the main stem. Thats not because it was wet, that was held together by roots...thin, hair feeding roots. When id grab that root ball none of that would fall off unless i grabbed and yanked. When i take a plant down and compost the root ball, i only have to cut 1 inch below the main stem and there is not a single root the size of the small G string on a guitar, except around the edges.

I wonder what id see though if i got some of those with the way that i grow now. id be interested in seeing if the root mass would change.

:pass: delays, delays,... internet went wonky yesterday,...

>>> FD, the whole persistence of expression of autoflowering is very interesting,.. wish I knew more about the genetic "mechanics" of it all,... I recall Cres mentioning something about this, that once the rudi' genes/expression mechanism are in there, it's almost impossible to breed then out,... I've heard a little about reverse engineering auto's to photo's, but haven't seem much for results. Sweet Tommy said during his interview that some of their auto's are now down to low single digit % rudi' genes! What I don't know is if they have back-crossed any photo's in there once the auto expression is locked in,.. figuring likely not, only when they're breeding early on for truer phenotype(s) to a parent,.. they sure succeeded with Green Poison!
 nice root shots mate! A-T'-- yes, that perimeter wrapping, and the apparent lower root density inward,... I think it's in part something the plant "knows" not to do, overbuild the mass closer in, instead pushing, seeking outward,...hence the wrapping effect, and the greater density along the edges,... Also noted, when I inspect my root masses from my fabric pots after harvest, they are much more evenly root packed all the way to the edges, freakin' solid too! -- I get near chopstick-thick roots sometimes breaking the surface... I believe this air-pruning effect makes the root branch out laterally more, while terminating at the tips exposed to the air,...the entire point of fabric pots I believe, and given what I see in results, I see zero reason to use plastic in my size limiting applications,...can't beat them for O2 access! FD, try some 1-2 gal fabric pots sometime,.. I dislike the airpots because of the tendency to leak water out the sides, especially if they get dry patches,.. then you have to use some wetting agent to help break that repellency and rehydrate evenly,....they have nothing on fabric pots either, for O2 access,...
:woohoo1: Peyote Purple! Dude, you'll make magic with those :wiz:... A-T', did we talk about PP earlier? That's the Bubba K' IBL selected for deep purple color from CannaBioGen,...
