I've grown outdoors for yrs and decided it's time to give it ago inside.
I'll be using a 600w hps with standard wing reflector in a small 3x3x6 grow space and of course my main issue will temperature and ventilation.
I plan on using a 4in fan for intake and a 6in for exhaust along with a fan to circulated air within grow space. Also the temperature out side tent will be kept nice and cool. The air that's being exhausted will filtered.

How does this sound to you guys?
If I were to filter the air coming into the tent will it reduce the co2 from the fresh air coming in?
Any and all info will be appreciated!

Filtering the air coming in shouldn't reduce the CO2 except that it would reduce the air flow and not sure what it would accomplish ... an LED that could excel in that space can be had for $100 (Mars Hydro ebay)... if you haven't bought the light you may want to rethink it if only for the cooler temperatures ... welcome aboard.

Thanks for the reply!
Hmmm I've be considering using LED lights I've seen tons a good info on them. But I've had this 600w some time now and figured I should put it to use.

Long as you got it you might as well get a couple grows out of it ... the price of LEDs has been coming down so they'll be even more affordable when you decide to buy ... I run Advanced LED Diamond Series and Extreme Flower Lights ... not bad when purchased used ... Nirvana's auto Blue Mystic and auto Northern Lights have very little smell and do well indoors.

What you could do is get your set-up running for like an hour (closed) and check the temp inside if it's too high you'll have to change some things if not have a nice grow!

I'm still waiting on my 6in fan to be delivered and exhaust will be released in a separate room.
I decided to run my system for a few hrs the way it is with just a 4in exhaust and a fan within the grow space to check my temperature. With passive intake air the grow space was a nice 81F degrees with ambient at a comfortable 73F. I'm still going to add a intake fan as well as a small co2 system.

I just got my seed order a few days ago and and plan on popping them sometimes next week as long as my conditions are on point.

although the co2 won't hurt, unless you are running very high temp's, it won't help that much so I've heard. sound's like a nice set-up tho. ;)

I've grown successfully w/ sustained temperatures up to 90*F ... 81* should be no problem ... system sounds a little open to benefit from CO2 ... Have you decided on a soil and a pot size ?

I've heard that you have to be at 85º for CO2 to do any good, I am not sure I believe that...
These sorts of things aren't light-switch, on/off accurate. I think anything over 80º and you
are going to see gains with CO2.

I'm certainly seeing a downgrade in trich coverage w/o my bloom bag in place.

I always operate in the 72º to 80º range. At least in my big tent with exhaust.

Here's a copy and pasted of things you need to know about CO2 before splashing out! :)

For CO2 to work, you need....

  • Bright Light - Your cannabis plants need a lot of light for CO2 to be effective at speeding up growth and increasing yields. As far as light intensity, we're talking about the kind of light produced by a 1000W HID grow light. CO2 only helps plants make more energy from bright light, so it won't help if you have low light levels.
  • Enough CO2 - You must be able to maintain 1200-1500 PPM of CO2 in the grow area or it won't help your plants.
  • Sealed Grow Space - You must be able to completely seal your grow space so CO2 can't get out.
  • Temperature - You should maintain temperatures between 85°F (30°C) and 95°F (35°C) in your grow space for CO2 to be most effective.
  • Humidity - You must keep humidity below 60-70% to prevent mold and other problems, but keeping humidity low can be difficult with a sealed room while running CO2. You may need to get a dehumidifier.
I know it may sound like a lot, but these factors are important! If you have the wrong setup, adding more CO2 isn't going to help you! Today I will share everything I wish I’d known about CO2 when I started growing, so you'll know exactly how you can use CO2 for faster growth and increased marijuana yields. Let's get started!
Beware! Some people (especially companies selling poor CO2 products) will try to trick you into thinking that CO2 is some magical supplement you add to your grow room to make plants grow better. Unfortunately this is not the case! There are good ways to add CO2... and there are ineffective ways.
