Hi all

Due to changing circumstances i now need to relocate my tent to a garage and have noise issues with nosey neighbours.I have a 4'' manrose mf 100s exhaust fan http://www.gil-lec.co.uk/manrose-mf100s-4-inch-inline-fan which i'd like to add a variac to and here lies the confusion WHICH ONE? I live in the UK if that helps and have around a £50 budget

Many thanks in advance

Are you looking for a intake fan?

Hi

No pal i'm looking around to see what variacs are available to control my fan speed ( nosey neighbours ) and hopefully control my temps a bit better now the tent has been relocated ( i like to grow all yr round ) At present i use passive intake but may consider a intake fan in the future

Growing in similar circumstances I have found noise of a 4" fan (passive in) minimal and acceptable. I do have a silencer on my ducting but feel it makes little difference tbh. I don't vary my fan speed but considered it during setup, it would work to reduce noise. It's the clipon fan in the tent that makes a bloody worrying racket.

Green garages, good luck

(edit... saw your sweet seeds question, I'd recommend looking at herbies seeds autoflowering site)

Hi

Been growing a while now but have never had to consider noise up until now, but due to the now relocated tent its a must even if its pretty quiet.Been doing a bit of digging around about ways of quietening things down and building a box around the exhaust fan looks good and i'll look into a silencer

Thanks for recommendation, i've bought seeds from them in the past but if possible i like to try and buy from the breeder

It's vibration not noise that's the issue if you get me. Good luck mate

Try looking in your computers case. The cooling fans inside them usually have a curved baffle directing the air onto the cpu. When you remove this baffle the noise increases substantially. Would it be feasible for you to recreate this effect? Hope this helps or gives you some other idea, best wishes.
