what do you think about the personal vape for herb?
I bought the pillar tyga because it was rated best for herb. its a lot cleaner inhale, but im not sure if the high is the same as joint. im still preferring papers but paper smoke feels harmful at times. so I bought the vape. now I use the vape then smoke half j.

for stealth yes.for a non smoker yes.for a change or something different yes.high is a lil different yes.
will a vape replace a joint for an old timer ? no dont think so,i do like pipes n bongs to.
i recently got a hebe titan 2 vape £18 not so keen on the slightly toasted weed smell/taste.but it will get used for a sneaky puff now and again.
good luck.

Hey! I'm a *big* fan of vapes. I don't smoke bud at all anymore if I can help it. I have a Airistech Viva and love it. Holds about a half gram of flower at a time and only cost me about $60 shipped from Ebay. I've had it for about a year and is a daily driver when I have flower (still reliant on street bud til my first grow finishes up here in a bit). Only issue I have with it is the mouthpiece needs replacing, but they're only like $5 a pop aftermarket.

As @archie gemmill said, the high is a bit different - I get much more of a head high, something I can go on about my day with than were I to smoke or eat an edible or take some oil. So for example, my vape is what I use for my anxiety and depression, and my edibles are for sleep and pain control. And speaking of edibles, the great advantage a vape has over a pipe or bong is that I save all my vaped bud, and use it to make oil, tincture, and edibles. Even after it's done being vaped, there's still plenty of cannabinoids left for some pretty righteous brownies. :):woohoo1:

Yes, vaporizer vs. combustion high is different - much cleaner, without all kinds of toxic by-products that clearly detract from the high (as you will see with time).

Much of what smokers perceive as different and missing with vaping is simply the physiological shock (rush) of your body with each hit dealing with the stress of inhaling a load of hot aerosolilzed carcinogens, irritants, carbon monoxide, etc. (e.g., exemplified by big bong hits). For some, this apparently can be addictive and/ior simply come to be expected as part of the high (become habituated), with this more evident with smoking cigarettes/tobacco.

But even if you perceive something missing from vaping, keep in mind that you are getting >30% more return, with at least that much plant materials lost to combustion. You get way more return/value/THC out of vaping vs. combusting your herbs.

This, yes. When I have flower, I go through about a gram a day in my vape. When I've gotten everything out of it that I can it still weighs between .8-.9g which means I have almost an ounce of material leftover to make edibles with. All without any of the nasty products of combustion @BII mentioned. Smoking bud has it's place, but it's also a waste. If you're a cannabis enthusiast on a budget (like me) vaping is a damn good option.

on the brownies, are you making butter first with vape herbs?

Yep. I'm vegan, so I use coconut oil rather than butter, but I don't see why you couldn't use butter if you really wanted to. I use about 4g of vaped bud for a half cup of oil. I take the AVB (already vaped bud) and oil and put it in one of these:

Along with a little water (maybe 1/4-1/2 cup). Set the lid on, and let it roll for 4 hours, stirring every hour or so. Then I strain it (I keep squares of clean, cut-up old t-shirts just for the purpose) into a jar and let it cool in the fridge overnight. When the oil is solidified I poke a hole in it and drain the water and I've got my oil. I probably don't have as large a tolerance as some folks here, but I've found a half teaspoon will do the trick quite nicely. Between my vape and my oil I make from the AVB, I can make an ounce last a looong time.

Also, I dunno what you have in the way of thrift stores near you, but if you decide to try my method out, definitely check them for the little crock pots. I got mine used for like four bucks, and there's not a thing wrong with it.

1/3 cup oil is what my bettycroker brownie mix calls for. but I don't think you advise that much herb oil. I think you advise half teaspoon. thanks. ill start saving herb.

Not quite - All I meant to say was that when I make my oil, a half-teaspoon is what I consider a single dose. So if your brownie recipe calls for 1/3 cup oil, you'd end up with about 30 brownies. Hope that helps clarify things a bit!

Also, for reference - everyone vapes their bud to a different "doneness" but when I'm done with mine, it looks pretty close to this:

So if you're vaping the shit out of your bud, the leftovers might not be as potent as what I'm working with. Probably still a decent amount of good meds in there, though.
