Hey guys I know there are threads around but I think it’s worth making a new one here too. The fad, wether it be funded by big tobacco or just news outlets trying to stand out all I hear about is how it’s supposedly causing death. When I dug a bit deeper I found that it’s from these thc infused cartridges. I am a nicotine vaper. Much different than the craze on the news. I actually make my own e-liquid with the safest ingredients as possible.

Do you guys know how to make safe thc vape oil for cartridges? I’d assume the butane extraction is out. I guess what I’m asking is what are safe methods to extract and the safest to ingest. Anyone have a process they use they feel is better or safer? I know the ingredients (vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol) are super inexpensive and larfy buds, trim and even older stale bud is easy to come by. People are buying these cartridges online from unknown vendors. It’s a great discrete alternative to flower. Is it worth it to buy them considering the potential health side effects or best to make your own?

I'm a vaper too. Make all my own juices... I don't trust that industry much..vg/pg/nic and some flavorings...

I've been messing with this too... saw the article, from what I gathered it's from a thickener being used in the desolving agent.
I haven't ran across a workaround that I've found satisfactory. Yet... a hand made fused Clapton coil with a ceramic wick makes dabbing on a drip tip interesting.

Is there a particular reason you want to vape oil mixed (adulterated?) with glycerin, glycols, etc., presumably using a pen vs. vaping it pure, in more natural states? Most any real cannabis vaporizer, that is one that handles dry herbal material, can do a good job of delivering good doses with extracted oils or rosin. If I had oil or other concentrate, I'd just put or mix a some on top of a small amount of herbal material and vape that.

Pardon my ignorance, but when concentrates are vaped by dabbing, put on heated nails, quartz platforms and such, is this vaping oils/rosin 'cut' with glycerin, glycols, etc. or vaping them non-diluted, 'un-cut'?

I am also trying to learn. It’s the new craze in my area. Just about every time I come up to a red light I see someone puffing away on a black vape pen. I think the addition of flavorings with oil allows people to mask the smell and also enjoy a bit of additional taste. Im just not sure. I’m more concerned with the reason for the deaths. If it’s easy enough to make and people want it I’d guess recipes would be easy to come by. Also allowing growers the opportunity to make their own instead of buying someone’s poison.

They are referring to cartridges on the illegal market. Packaged to look like a reputable product... and very possibly the "liquidizers" being used by home guys to make there own.

Concentrates don't readily dissolve in pg or vg I've gotten it to mix with vg but it's an effort and tries to separate.

Until something safe comes along I think I'll stick with flower and dabs on a nail.

I’ve been experimenting with vape carts. Using CCell type carts you can get on EBay and I used the liquidizer call liquefy from Mass Terpines added to QWET that had been reduced to RSO. Couple were great. Tried there Deluent which was their product to dilute and now I’m sick as a dog. Probably just the change in weather and a few busy days for me. But since I just started gaping and the stories came out I’m a bit nervous

New laws going into effect. No vaping till the age 21 and no flavored e-juice sales in Michigan will start soon. Nothing worse than hearing about a shady weed mixture hurting someone. In this case a few died. Then to hear the news say vaping electronic tobacco cigarettes is what’s causing it. These people have no clue what they are saying so they shouldn’t be allowed to create a law around it.
They must be losing a lot of money in cigarette sales. Flavored cigars/blunts and cigarette are still ok though.
