Yea Daz did some breeding work for Mephisto back in the day including work on Cosmic Queen and Sour Stomper. I don't think he does any breeding work for them anymore.
Daz runs Night Owl, he's an independent breeder but did some work with Mephisto a couple years ago. There's historical affiliation and some often Mephisto strains appear in his crosses, though he also has some excellent photo-to-auto projects of his own.
I read this am about a large confiscation of seeds in Spain just recently, anyone read the same and know if Mephisto was caught up in it?
Haven't heard anything about it affecting Mephisto, and the seed production for the US & CA markets happens at a US-based farm now. The farm in Spain supplies the EU, UK, and Worldwide stores.
it is a shame that the store is hit and miss. I saw the announcement on reddit and took a look at things on monday - a few things were still available but I didnt order anything - i need to go through what I got - i am glad i have a ton though. having dabbled in breeding i know it aint easy to provide top notch quality and availability for 1000's of beans so i get that its usually a limited supply. then, when everyone suddenly storms the online store then shit can break their website - also understandable.
im glad i got my supply quite some time ago, about to run out of what i had but at least i crossed it a little bit

Buying seeds from mephisto, NightOwl, RocBud, and a few others has become such a hassle, that I've started looking for alternate sources.
Those three, and probably many other small breeders have good stuff, but so do lots of other larger breeders.
Seedfinder has customer ratings for most breeders, so I decided to find the best.
Some of the popular breeders on this site don't have enough ratings to register, so they get a rating of "?."
For comparison mephisto's rating is 8.3 out of 10.

The fact that Greenpoint is higher than Bodhi makes this list an afterthought and a joke. Mod of this list just got more freebies to come up with this junk.
That list is probably pretty off-topic here, but it also seems suspicious that Grower's Choice is so high -- their name comes up more than any other on the autoflowers subreddit when people complain about "auto" seeds they bought that turn out to be photos. They may have major supply chain / quality control issues, or they just don't care.
I was negligent in not having checked out the number of ratings that went into the average rating.
Fewer than 5 items produces a questionable average.
I went back and tried to find that out, but only got the number of strains reviewed.
