Also, you can have multiple plants at different stages in the same tent. So, if you’re worried about the learning curve, you can germ one seed….do what you need to do to get it going, and once that plant is say, 20 days old and you’ve learned a little, start another and so on. Plus that will set you up for a nice perpetual harvest.

Also, when it comes to photos, I would say the #1 mistake new growers deal with is hermies caused by light leaks. Autos eliminate that issue all together.
Hey just curious...do you have a separate area to start your new add seedlings? I want to start staggering my grows to be continuous but worry about burning them to death...or cheating the others by lowering the light intensity to accommodate the news? Thanks

You dont have to deal with light leaks number one. Number two you can grow them outside without having to wait and have huge plants. Especially if you live in an area where the seasons change before your plant finishes. You have to deal with powder mildew budrot etc. Autos are great for stealth they don't get over 3ft. If you live in an area that had a longer season you can run multiple times. I mean with an auto outdoors just get yourself 5 or 7gal pot add some high quality soil you can just add water. They are better for beginners. Some people can't deal with light leaks and there tent is in their bedroom etc

No, I start seedlings right in their final pot, in the tent. I pull it off because I use auto cob lights…..so I can adjust each light separately…..higher or lower depending on what is needed.

You can just use milk crates etc just use your imagination

I am glad you said that I had often wondered if providing some sort of shade was a viable option and actually never really considered milk crates. I think that is brilliant thank you so much I am definitely going to give it a whirl.
Milk crates would be used to elevate plants that need to be closer to the light…..

Seedlings can take fairly intense light after the first few days. I generally run mine at about 35-40 dli until day 6 or 7 and then 50-53 dli for the remainder of the grow.

I have done both autos and photos, and disagree with "autos are really delicate and finicky." Autos are tanks bud, and will push through a lot mismanagement. The photos have been more sensitive than my autos. You dont have to worry about a light schedule change as well. Length of grow is a plus for a lot of growers too. I beat the hell out of my plants and they love it. Grow a few of each, and your unpopular opinion may change... stay lifted.
If autos were delicate, all mine would have died before making bud and I would be a dispensary cowboy instead of here on AFN. Autos have their quirks, but delicate? I don't think so, and I have tortured quite a few of them before coming to that outlook.

But whatever turns yer farmer crank, just git on with it, and let us stoners watch.
