Starting up a journal for the new grow. Now that the Kindsoil is all done, no point in journaling in that thread so figured I'd do just a single grow journal for this one and since it's a couple Dinafem strains post it up in their section.

So here's what's on tap....

Popping an Auto Blue Amnesia XXL and a freebie Auto Critical + after letting them soak for about a day and a half. Starting them out in a mini solo cup of Roots Organic Original.

The soil for the grow will be a mix of the "2.1 Master Mix Soil Builder" from tlosoils.com. This is a mix to cook up your own TLO, water only style organic soil that I'd head of through @Eyes on Fire and decided to test out. The soil was mixed using Roots Organic Original as the base soil and using their medium strength mix guidelines of five gallons of each component. Filled two 5 gallon tall Root Trapper II soft pots with the mix yesterday and getting the Blumats dialed in for the moisture level while the seeds are germinating. Couple pics of the mix back on October 5 here: https://www.autoflower.org/threads/...ip-july-oct-2016.54005/page-1697#post-1210588

I'll be supplementing using the compost tea mixes also from tlosoils.com. Staring with the new roots tea and them moving through the growth, bloom, and finishing mixes. Haven't fully settled on the schedule or frequency just yet. Will also be giving them some Earth Juice Oilycann for a cal/mag supplement either alternating with the teas or mixed in with 'em.

Day to day watering will be provided via Blumat's fed from a reservoir of carbon filtered tap water.

Seeds planted this AM and going in the closet on either side of the little mother plant I'm nursing along:

I imagine the soil smells wonderful not stink right?! if it smelly it was too wet, but should have a lovely new fresh earth smell. and imo cut the teas in half or brew them at half strength. these are photo teas. half strength or a lil less is gonna be just fine for them. lemme know if you need anything dude. the soil is stellar. ill be starting my new makeup of that mix as well next week or the week after just in time for me new Stone Gear. :D

Yep...the soil had a really good, earthy type smell to it but nothing that I would call moldy or foul. I might try brewing the teas at half strength. I like that the TLOSoil tea mixes come in little zip locked bags so I could use half and seal the rest back up. I was mixing full and then watering down to half strength before giving it to the plants before, but mixing at half would be easier as there would be less leftover tea to have to deal with and the packets would last longer. Been giving the leftover to the house plants some but mostly to a pot of strawberry plants in the front yard that will hopefully be VERY happy next spring as a result. :smoking:

do you layer the tlo soil like with other super soils I am looking to make my own soil either a super soil type or a tlo soil using the 2.1 Master Mix Soil Builder

I would add, though, that I did start the seeds in a small starter cup of straight potting soil as a precaution against the TLO soil being maybe too hot for seedlings. Dunno if it is or not, but just seemed like the way to go. So I guess that could be considered one small layer of a sort.

Speaking of the starter cups, decided this morning to go ahead and move them into the soil in the pot. Have to say, using a spare empty cup as a plug to have a hole ready to go made it super easy. So far thinking this mini solo cup starting is going to become a new permanenet thing as I really liked it. Still have to wait a few and make sure they make the transition OK, but don't see why they wouldn't. Nice roots showing on both in the soil in the cups as I was moving them, with the Blue Amnesia in particular having a nice looking tap snaking out the bottom. Blumats look like they're pretty well dialed in after running for the last few days, but will keep an eye on them and do any final tuning over the next few days. Haven't decided exactly when just yet, but will be making up the first batch of the teas in the next week or so and getting them started on that.

Well what a nice little set up you have mate very nice indeed :toke:

Can I say a big thank you for starting this grow diary and documenting the grow on AFN this is much appreciated.

Great to see 100% germination and that the seedling are now into the finish pots and the method you've used I can not see you having to much of a issue

I'll be along for the ride with this one mate. So far things are looking great.

Thank you again for documenting your grow on AFN and thank you for the added picture very much appreciated!

Until the next update :pass:

All the best

Mark.
