Trying out beans from Hush Seeds and a Private Breeder all from Autobeanstalk.com

I rather would have 1guy not using the bottomless cup at all in the first place, but for now he's got to make the best of it. Hence the advice.

@1guy: Hope you haven't been too liberal with the Cal/mag as they are some strong salts.

Ph-ed water would be the only antidote.

I probably have been to aggressive with the cal/mag. I have always heard LED cause a cal/ mag deficiency. I definitely will just use PHed water the next couple of times I water.

I have definitely screwed something up. Opinions would be helpful. I need to water today but I don't know what I should give them as far as nutes or no nutes and I am going to wait until I get some advice. I know it is not the hush seeds, as in this grow I have a mephisto and a nirvana blue mystic growing and they are all doing the same thing. I had left over seeds from my last few grows so I dropped them. The only thing I can say that I have done different than my prior grows is that I have about 50% perlite versus about 25% perlite in my soil mix. I also have had a gnat problem but I have keep it in check some what with gnat strips and neem oil sprayed on top of the soil.

HELP!

Here is a few more pics without flash. I think that it shows color better.

Nitrogen deficiency? The older leaves are the ones turning yellow since the new leaves are getting first dibs on the nitrogen.
"Sometimes you can get the signs of a cannabis nitrogen deficiency if the pH at the plant root zone is too low, even if the nitrogen is there. This is because when the pH at the roots is not right, your plant roots can't properly absorb nutrients. If you aren't sure about your root pH, learn more about pH & growing cannabis plants here."

I'm guessing because I have not faced this problem.

Hey Hey 1g1p :)

Opinions would be helpful.

Looks like you're struggling a little with this one!
I think there must be a knack to the "tiering" method (which i tried a couple of times ... see my hilarious results below)

I would say that there is definately a problem with the roots being able to take up nutrients.
Excess salts .. Ph problems will cause these kind of problems.

I think they're stunted like mine above (i never used the tier method after this one lol)

I'd agree with Hush that the tiering method isn't working well for you - next go maybe try germing them and sowing direct to the pot and see if this works out a bit better.

All a learning curve really!

See it through and take the above advice about washing the excess salts through, but maybe if you have space, it could be wise to drop another bean!

I havent read the whole journal, but i guess you're using a good quality canna growing soil and PHing to 6.2-6.4. and the temperature is somewhere near or between 75-85f

Good luck with whichever way you go, you'll learn something from every plant - even a slightly stunted one! :)

Thanks Blue,

I don't know what it is. I don't have many grows under my belt but I have not had these kinda problems in the past. I am feeling bad because I know I am not doing these hush seeds justice and they were gracious enough to let me test them for them. My soil ph is about 6.8 and I have been watering around 6.3. I think today I will just water with plain PHed water as I did with my last watering and see if they get any better.

when all else fails, flush flush flush. I'm not good a diagnosis so the flush is my back up plan. never been a cure all but it helps, at least for me.
good grow :karma Cloud: sent your way 1guy

Make an oxigine rich, tea colored tea with Earth Worm Castings and bring it down to 5.6 ph.

Top dress with an about one cm thick layer of Earth Worm Castings, then flush with PH-ed EWC water. (Cover surface with plastic to keep surface topping moist)

Prolly PH-ed down to 5.6 for only one flush for just one time should do.

See how they respond and if positive you can water normally and without drain while raising it up to 5.8, next 6.0, next 6.2 and then ya stay at 6.2

Still some very impressive final results for an initially stunted Grow @blue

Maybe you could exchange your soil recipe on that grow to 1guy for his next grow?
