Grow Mediums Trial of Firsts

Nice pic. Im gonns try this with 2 plants like u. Did u end up liking those lights

So far the lights have worked out well. With both CFL's supplementing now I have 655 true watts in a 10.5 square foot area. Only issue I see today is I may have tucked tops for a couple days to long. Vertical growth has slowed/stopped and I have quite a few tops in or under the screen.

August 16, 2017 Update of 8 Ball Kush and Sweet Tooth SCROG
88 Days from sprout
51 Days Veg Growth
63 Days on Autopot Feedings at full strength
35 Days under the scrog
19 Days under 12/12 Lighting

The stretch (what little there was) seems to have halted. Not complaining but not knowing the strain traits, never scrogging before and working in such tight quarters, I think I may have tucked for a couple of days too long. All vert growth has stopped and I have many tops that are sort of in the screen. I may try to do some delicate re-positioning but the stems are pretty rigid at this point so likely not much to do but live, and learn.

I’ve been reading again and decided to adopt a bit of Latewoods formula (similar to the one I have been using). I have added some GROW (I know I am a hypocrite) in tiny amounts for a couple of weeks to try and build more mass or perhaps re-ignite a bit more stretch. Time will tell and I am keeping a close eye on them.

My nutes this week (and my two girls just went through six gallons in four days!!!) are as follows:

.65g/gal Epsom Salt, .75ml/gal grow, 6ml/gal micro, 9ml/gal bloom, .1ml/gal drip clean, .5ml/gal Part 1&2 Enzymes.

PPM= 865
pH= 5.8

August 30, 2017 Update of 8 Ball Kush and Sweet Tooth SCROG
102 Days from sprout
51 Days Veg Growth
77 Days on Autopot Feedings at full strength
49 Days under the scrog
33 Days under 12/12 Lighting

As posted earlier, the 8 Ball took a hit I suspect from nute overload (I tried to push the kool bloom powder and clearly the 8 Ball was more sensitive than the Sweet Tooth. Ah well, they are both still with us so we carry on. (I wouldn’t be so good with it if I didn’t have three plants in flower outdoors.)

After a few days rest, I did switch to bloom nutes but varied from the recipe by leaving in some MICRO at the rate of 2ml/gallon (when the recipre calls for 0/none). I plan to taper it down to zero over a few weeks. I know this all fly’s in the face of you established growers but I started down this path and feel like I need to finish the walk.

You will see the 8 Ball is pale green with some yellowed, mottled leaves. I can’t document the number of leaves I tossed but it was 60% or better.

I am pleased just the same.

Wow awesome job at your first scrog! Beautiful plants. Definitely glad the one on the left didnt get too hurt from the over nutes. Thatll happen! Im excited to see your final results. Im thinking about doing a scrog myself with similar wattage to you.

They look good bro. That canopy looks like it will give you a nice harvest. :cheers:
The Sweet T doesn't think you fed too much and look as happy as can be. Running new strains always has a curve for me, so I usually don't stress the 1st run.
It looks like about 70+ nice colas starting to fill in with lots of fattening up time.
How long do those run 12/12?
