I grow to provide medicine to family and friends in need.
I am going to start a bunch of autos in 1 gallon pots and distribute them to FnF.
Obviously 1 gals are no good. Also I can't assume people will water pots correctly. I figure the plants will just go into the ground.
In years past I'd turn the soil add stuff to the soil etc. With everything im learning about regenerative and no till I'm thinking about minimal disturbance plugging them in and adding worm, compost, fungi, etc to the top. Top dress i guess. Any advice/suggestions?

Are you growing them in the ground or are you giving them away in 1 gal pots?

Giving them away.

So are you asking about how to use the soil you will put in the one gallon pots?

LOL.
No. I'm just going to take them out of the pots and stick them in the ground.

Sorry, lol. Im totally confused. I'll stop replying so that someone else can hopefully chime in!

No idea about in ground growing....but I've grown inside in 1 gal pots (usually less) for 15 yrs...no prob. Small pots are easy to manage in every respect but replanting in the ground outside opens up a bevy of problems which become much more challenging. IMHO, your FnF will have a much more controllable grow with the gifts if left in the gal pots....if outside, just watch for the usual pests.

LOL. Thanks. I'm just going to start plants in pots and transplant them outside in the earth. :)

When moving from indoors to out I used root pouches … to move outside simply dig a hole and leave the plant in the pouch. A Root Pouch is pretty easy to duplicate if you have any sewing skills …. minimal transplant shock when left in the pouch.
:pass:

was thinking of cutting the bottom off of the pot and burying half way into the ground. Kind of like you see with a 4" Rockwool block when someone sticks it on top of an 8" block or whatever.
