tiny 4 day old

I just remembered something.

Generally, when one brews compost/bacterial tea, the pH tends to naturally rise quite a bit. This happens when bacteria actually start colonizing and dividing. So that run-off could be from the piranha and voodoo you added.

So yeah, good to pull back to just base nutes and have run-off close to the mark. After you have a huge rootmass, then coco run-off pH in not that a big deal. For example, pH rise of run-off is a side effect of good N intake. Remember plants also excrete from the roots. Coco buffers to a good extent, but not in the range of in 5.8 out 7.xx. Since there is only a tap root in there, a heavy pH flush is a must in this case.

CXB dont put out much radiation heat, so I advised up'ing ambient temps and lowering RH to induce transpiartion. The youngling will forcibly have to compensate by sucking in water from the roots.

The absolute most efficient would be to foliar spray, but that would require ready available mix today, and great precison. We're talking kelp, b-1, surfactant, N in the leaf available form...

Anyway, like i said, i've had worse! At the time I had no clue what was what, and I fixed it by changing from LED to HID... this was 2012 when I first got a chinese LED black dog style light and was naturally blaming the light! :)

Damn, time flies...

:toke: ...how are they looking Bum? I see the coco Master Groff has chimed in--:smoking: Thanks mate! I've yet to do coco myself, but am having to learn-up some anyway, just to deal with the tricky diagnostic and fixing issues that coco presents- :doh: ...I might be brain-pickin' on ya from time to time! :cheers:

@Waira

Coco really is dead easy. I'd say easier than running soil as you can fix stuff pretty quickly, and when stuff actually goes, quite easier to manage than DWC for instance as it's more forgiving. The trick with any system is to learn how to logically diagnose the issue. Most of the time it's pretty straight forward. Let us know how it's going @Bum! :pass:

@Waira @Groff @sanguine

Heres how shes looking today

I put in a Amnesty Haze Auto in the same pot to sen how she goes, if same im done with this Coco brand. I also put a fastbuds lsd25 in another pot with same brand Coco this time preflushed.

Heres the Red Poison girl in Plagron Light Mix

I think she's looking much better!

In any case, good agro coco does not need pre-flush. That is what people used to do waaaaay back in the day when coco was first produced, and it usually came with extreme salt concentrations. I only really know Canna Coco, and it's straight out the bag into the pot and sow. Information overload made me do the same when I first got started. So I basically was pre-flushing all the beneficial trichoderma and whatever buffering agent they use, which let to having symptoms very very much like yours

Yeah man. New growth coming along.
Ive been emailing back and forth with these guys on Gorilla Grow and he said it wasnt ment for seeds. Waiting for another update from them now.

And its supposed to be AMNESIA Haze in my previous post lol. Damn autocorrect...

@Bum - say what now ?? Gorilla Grow coco is not supposed to be used for seeds ?? :crying:

They're kidding right? What on earth are they supposed to be for? This is completely bonkers. If it's good for clones and plants, there is absolutely no reason on planet earth it can't be good for seeds. I'd love to understand their reasoning behind this, it just doesn't make sense at all. Coco is virtually an inert medium, unlike soil, where you have strong EC and light mix, and then yeah, strong mix can burn the plants.

You only have two type of coco. Reptile grade, which has no trychoderma and is steamed (creating plant toxic nitrogen), and then you have horticultural grade coco, which is absolutely good for whatever you wish… cloning, seeding, potting up, amending soil, whatever.

This latter group, sure, there maybe some coco better than other… I myself prefer Canna and Biobizz. I like Canna the best because it just looks more consistent in granularity and general feel, less lumps and weird stuff, often arrives moister and fresher smelling… since they have such bigger client base, so product doesn't usually get stuck in a warehouse for year or two until sold.

don't stress @Bum, I think you'll be fine. if you want to turbo charge your coco/plants without affecting your feeding regime, I highly highly suggest either learning to make aerobic compost tea/compost tea … or just buy bottled agro-bacteria and myco's to include in the water to innoculate the roots. Impossible to overdo an totally safe, and will promote more overall plant health than the entire Obama Care programme :crying:

@Groff

Im really not sure what he ment about the "not for seeds" thing. It must have been me who have messed up somehow. Like when i first expanded it from block, perhaps i shouldve used pH water right then instead of flushing afterwards.

I used the $5 IKEA coco before and didnt have one problem throughout the grow with Mephisto gear.
