If the trim was so so that would probably give you maybe 80 doses.. I just figured 1/2 strength of using buds. Then added to 8oz of oil gives you .1 oz for a dose.
Just take the more powerful oil and mix it into regular oil when cooking. If not baking add it at the end of cooking your dish so it's not burned away. I usually add a dose to my dinner most nights.
If using coconut oil I think gel caps are the way to go most of the time.
after watching how to grow your own drugs, i have decided to try the simple method of just adding the leaf/buds in with oil and gently cooking it for 10-20 mins,.. then straining and adding some more.. has anyone tried this before?
the recipe i am going to use is this one, all though this is to make lip balm, i was going to use it as a rub for my sister who has very bad wrists.. Lemon balm lip salve for cold sores
1. Wash and strip the lemon balm leaves and chop finely. In a pan over a slow heat, stir and crush one third of the lemon balm leaves with the wheatgerm and olive oil for 10 minutes, or until it starts to bubble. Take off the heat and leave to infuse for 10 minutes.
2. Strain the oil through a muslin-lined sieve or colander into a bowl, squeezing the leaves to get out all remaining juice. Throw away the squeezed leaves.
3. Repeat this process twice more with the remaining 2 batches of lemon balm leaves, using the same oil.
4. Place the oil in the pan on a gentle heat and add the honey and beeswax. Stir until melted, then take off the heat and stir in the tea tree oil.
5. Pour the salve into small sterilized jars, where it will set solid within 10 minutes.
USE: Apply to cold sores whenever needed.
STORAGE Keeps for up to 1 year.
Personally I would decarb the bud first and then cook it with some oil for several hours (I usually do 6+) in a double boiler and make a super concentrated oil. Then figure out your doses and cook the recipe as stated with less oil. When you get to step 4 add the correct amount of canna oil and finish. Just my .02.
