Thoughts on carbon filters

Wat size to put in a 80x80x160 tent and wat brand I'm UK so not sure if that effects wat i can get

I have the same tent size and I use rvk system air 5" L1 and 5" rhino pro here's the formula
To determine the extractor fan size of your grow room or tent, the formula is to multiply grow room volume(cubic feet), carbon filter factor(+25%), insulation factor(±20%), ducting(+10% for 10 feet) and the light factor(+10% for 1000W). You'll get the fan size in CFM

Carbo air and rhino all I've ever used so can only recommend them I'd also advise to buy above the required and reduce Ur fan speeds it's better to have more power but use less and Ur fan will love u back with longer life . Sadly nout can be done about the filter change them every 12 months at least and deffo don't cheap out on the filter that's probs Ur most important bit of kit if Ur in the UK or other pro ab place

Make sure you get a filter that's rated for the size fan you have so if your fan is 100cfm you need a filter that's for 100cfm or more

Get a Rhino Pro Carbon Filter. It will last and do a good job for years.

Match the size to your extraction fan so it fits snuggly without the need for reducers or lots of duct tape.

Years for a filter ? 12 months max if it's ran continued surly ? I have the rhino pro 5" and an system air 5" L1 rvk and 120* 80* 80 and i run the fan half or less speed and have a 4" intake and one of the side flaps open and still get negative tent pressure Id be looking to change the filter when both sides of the filter cover are looking dirty (turn inside out ) took about 11 months for me and for sake of £60 a year for the filter I personally wouldn't risk it if you're in blighty NO TELL NO SELL NO SMELL I put extraction as my top priority when I've set up in past then environment/ medium then lights then the rest is personal preference take what I say as just my personal experience there's guys on here that grow solos better than my 5 gals so sure you will get great advice

Always have a backup in stock. I use the extra long terrabloom 4" been running for 18 months now. 1/3 more carbon for a few dollars more. I plan on using a 8 inch fan in my new 4 x 4 setup. Big filter lower speed

Essential if you don't want any smells I have a ac infinity 4in filter into a hydroguard(I think not it's green lol) 4in exhaust

Smelling is the best test you will have for your carbon filter. Smell whether the active carbon still has its original smell. Compare its smell to that of unused activated carbon.

This should be done after 3-4 months of installation.

The moment you won’t sense the smell of fresh carbon from your filter, its time to replace it. This is a sign that the active carbon is fully used and it can’t be used anymore.

My last filter was a vivosun cheapo it worked for about 7 months 3 plants max. The smell definitely seep through the filter little by little. Got the ac infinity about almost a year ago and still going low speeds of course

At around £60 for quality professional filter 5" and Street weed in UK going for a around £10 g for the price of a quarter or there abouts it it really worth the risk FILTER should be something you never cheap out on same with medium and genetics it really shouldn't even be a question imo " if Ur in a probation place get that smell from out your space "

I've used rhino pro and I can get 18 months out of them I use mine with 125 ml L1 rvk high power fan and I use my vents on my tent for fresh air. also a mountain air carbon filter is what I'm using now and these are known to last 2 years plus and as folks have said in the UK don't cheap out and protect yourself
