First I will say sorry about this mess.

I have read thru this and other forums and my head is spinning with the maybe its this maybe its that. But this site has imo some of the best answers for most things.

Ok here it is.....soil cant say (I know Im a dumb a$$)bought from lowes added perlite to it 25-30% tho it wasnt MG.

germed green houes big bang auto in soil (5g bucket) on the 16th of last month (2x)

Started GH micro-grow nutes on the 5th (day 16 from breaking soil) 1/4 strenght of chart on week 2

They look good, nice green fat shade leaves, about 5 inches tall -14inches from tip to tip across the shade leaves.

used a 125 clf + 70 watt hps temp 78 lights on 70 lights off 20/4 untill today got my 600 watt MH/hps

plug in my 600 watt MH to see brown spots starting on a few leaves and a little droopy. Some tips are twisting a bit.

Was this from over feed them????? I dont have to water but once a week soil stay moist but not wet.

Last thing is I cant PH the run off yes yes noob didnt buy a ph meter and cant aford a real on atm I do have a probe soil meter but it reads 7 on some spots and 7.5 on other spots and yes I use a ph test kit on water and ph it to 6 when watering.

cant use a test kit for run off because run off is dark color or can I?????

Plz help and yes I'm a noob but wanting to learn from the pro:thumbs:

How far away is the 600w MH from your plants?:toke:

Well its set 16" atm but I just put it in before I put them to sleep so they havnt felt the 600 watt yet.

Can you post a picture of the plant so we can see how it's looking? Chances are your soil pH is off and it's causing a nutrient lockout situation. I assume you have one of those $20 pH probes. They can be notoriously inaccurate. But if it is accurate and you're getting readings of 7 to 7.5, then it probably is lockout. In that case you'll need to add some sulfur or aluminum sulfate to your soil to lower the pH.

Well I have a few things wrong, first the hydro shop I was using really screwed me. Said I didnt need atm florabloom so Iv been just using grow+micro+flarious+rootboost. So I did a flush...added a little bloom (ph to 6) to get some Mg in the soil and run off was like 8 :twist:...... I tried adding some ...Sulfur 30% (free sulfer 18%+ 12% Combined Sulfur) but it was little pellets not powder before the flush. I hate to do it but I'm almost ready to wash and replant into some sunshine adv #4. 21 days into the grow I bet this would be like damn near death for my little girls :cuss: Yes I stopped that ph soil probe till their were just plastic pieces. Will have a digital one in a week are two, until then I will use a drop tester and paper strip tester till then its all I can do. Its only just started with the sickness but I'm hoping they hang on untill I can bring the ph in check tho I'm clue less how to do it. Thanks so much for help tho I have poped a few new beans in case of the worst.

Noobs dont let noobs grow beans=a lot of crying on the fourms LOL

BTW yes I think your dead on, found a new hydro shop and they hooked me up with a demo bag of the sunshine+florabloom+phdown all for a cool 10 bucks:dance:and said exactly as you have. Tho their closed for the next few days so any advise is so appreciated. And THANKS

you go to the hydro shop and ask for ph down

If you look 4 reply up u would see I got sunshine adv #4+florabloom+phdown today, I was asking how to use it effectively to bring it down from 8 to 6.5. Sorry would have thought you would have actually read the post before replying. I may have made a few mistakes but I.m not stupid :2cents:

No worries man. Words get mixed up easily through text. Add that ph down a few drops at a time to your water jugs. Shake it up and re test the ph. A little goes a long way with that stuff. Sunshine mix is considered semi soil-less and needs a ph about 6.3. Without a proper way to test runoff it's more or less impossible to know what your ph is without being able to test the runoff. Be patient and hope for the best until you new digital meter comes in.
