I have ordered cold pressed organic neem oil and Diatomaceous Earth. Wont arrive till Tuesday though.

In the mean time tomorrow I will get some yellow traps.

Just want to be sure these are fungus gnats. Numbers growing quickly. Not easy to get a good pic either.

Leaves of seedlings seem to starting to droop a bit and slightly light green maybe but nothing major as of yet.

While others comment, I'll say it doesn't look like the typical fungus gnat I get, but I kill them on sight. So I think I've never seen a fully grown one and maybe yours is one like that. Let's see what other have to say.

Oh ok. They seem to be relatively harmless if fruit flies then. I cannot seem to find much information regarding fruit flies, ot just brings up articles saying fruit flies look similar to fungus gnats.

Will neem or DE or childrens play sand help? I had planned to purchase these asap. So should i still be worried and continue as planned? read something about apple cidar vinegar too.

I am kind of relieved but now wonder if a face a different battle. Growing in locally bought organic super soil so fruit flies might make some sense.

A Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) 'natural biological' insecticide product will kill the larvae in the soil/medium. I use Microbe-Lift/BMC (only use a few drops, lasts a long time), but you should even be able to find Bt products at hydro shops, garden and farm supply and even hardware stores.

Thank you so much.

I have found Bacillus thuringiensis 10% v/v locally and will go grab it on Monday.

I pre treat my coco before the grow with nematodes that kill fungus gnats. Had a real bad infestation because of bring home a bag of coco from the hydro shop, wont be back. So far that has been the most efficent method of dealing with them as opposed to reactive approaches.
