The worlds first organic living coco coir growers thread .

well I kinda know BigSmO a bit and he gave me a small break on shuipping. but the deal was on his site. 499 for a 4X4 tent coverage.4 single(w/hangers) autocobs super modular too. should work real real nice for a multi strain grow. I cant wait to cut my teeth on them with a grow or two then imma really try doing a run.Im hopeful and very excited since I got an array of different lights.

This is my bio legend here terp content centers around the smell of original diesel, very slow flowering compared to the kushncheese which flowers very fast all plants in current rotation are sativa dominate kushs ,but my first bio legend this plant has the most dominate sativa characteristics.

I'm primed for this, been wondering if it's possible recently and it obviously is. Looking forward to the details. I'd pretty much given up on soil because of those damn fungus gnats, do you get this problem with the living coco?

Yes bugs are unfortunately part of growing an plants but with so many ways to deal with them we are in luck ,I often have them an they cause no problems but then again I have had them cause major problems at times, mosquito dunks ground up sprinkled on the coco I heard works as well d e ,diamatious earth incredibly misspelled lol also works ,I usually dry out my medium an disturb the top layer of soil not hurting the roots I might add an that sometimes works on a hot day I have left my coco in a super hot car and that will kill them also running hella hot water over soil helps as well ,but I always wonder about the damage to the microbe helpers .

Thanks, I've used nematodes in the past which seem to work but are sort of pricey. Love the image of a plant in the driving seat though:smoking:

Hey guys just want to chime in here since I've a few ways to handle fungus gnats.
  • If you put 2 inches of sand on top of your coco, you'll never have issues again. The gnats burrow to lay their eggs and when the larvae hatch they cannot survive digging up through the sand to mature and fly and mate.
  • Beneficial nematodes work fantastically if you don't want to or for whatever reason cannot use a top-layer of sand. Not only do the nematodes eat the larvae of fungus gnats, they also prevent other soilborne parasites from infesting your cannabis garden.
  • You can cover your pot with a DIY lid with a hole for the cannabis stalk. Put yellow and blue fly tape around the opening of the hole.

No problem,I mix worm castings an cotton seed meal ,fish bone meal, sea bird guano ,feather meal, rock phosphate, blood meal ,kelp ,meal ,3%humic acids derived fromleonardite, that is also ingredients to one of my teas,I add bat guano as well ,I mix but I leave the top part pure coco ,I very seldom water to run off ,keeping my organics from washin away or leaching out ,and with the down to earth pro organic there's myco an bacterias added my main goal is to keep them alive ,lower temps try not to go over 82 degrees ,I feed with teas of the wormcastings ,small amounts of whole milk ,molasses' with extra magnesium added (Epsom), ,bat guano an above listed meals and guauno I believe the ratio comes in at around 6-5-3but the bat tea is much higher ,I would like to add some pro biotics and some act teas but I'm super poor an have to save for everything,so in time I will be able to make a higher quality tea of soil helpers .

@dankstyle J Great info here. Just so you are aware, everytime you feed that whole milk to your soil you are loading it with probiotics, as it helps the lacto bacilli in the soil to dominate. If you want to give em a probiotic boost for free there are a ton of info on the web for how to make your own probiotics and how to collect them from the wild. I will be covering these topics in my journal as it progresses, so stay tuned in. But even if you let the milk sit in the open air for 8-12 hours it will be waaaayyyyyy more powerful. You can also use the milk mixed with water to foliar spray to prevent or treat powdery mildew.

I also water with clover I pick I add mollasses and let it sun tea after a week has a nice almost huckleberry smell ,the clover is full of water soluble nutrients I believe it also adds flavor terps in the future I would like to work on q completely sustainable organic growing using no package products an with a more emphasis on making the planet healthier an taking less an giving more.

If you plant clover on the soil around your cannabis, clover absorbs nitrogen from the air and stores it in its roots. The cannabis and clover will develop a symbiotic relationship and the clover will give extra nitrogen to the cannabis plants.

Keep up the great work! Peace bro.

Thanks very much for stopping by probiotic growing is definitely an interest of mine l see alot healthier plants which means a soil.rich in beneficial microbes and that's very nice ,studying organics and usin fermented juices an clover are also something I have found great success in ,I believe once people start to step away from the salt based chemical fertiliizers these methods will become more mainstream, ironically I believe some of these methods will be proven to improve yields equal to salt fertilizers with of course no damage to the eco system or environment folks will choose organic methods .

The main bud is bigger than a pop can an close to a foot long ,funny thing was worried about how much she would put out ,lots of smaller buds that aren't small an excellent tric coverage ,rock solid with the smell of cheese an sweet pine ,I have grown this one out a ton of times an each time it gets better,an when you throw the kushncheese in living coco she sure turns up the size ,great great stuff @dinafem mark
