Hi AFN family,

I am doing an introduction since I have taken a 7 year hiatus from being active on AFN lol. I came across this forum back then when I was trying to be on the cutting edge of cannabis and the legal cannabis industry. Back then I felt like LED's and autoflowers were the only logical future of cannabis production due to time and efficiency. I remember AFN was the only place giving autoflowers a chance and recognizing their true potential. Unfortunately I had so much going on in my personal life with university and establishing my career in the legal cannabis industry I could barely keep up with my own personal grow, much less my grow journal and postings

Many things have happened to me since my first indoor grow I posted here. I had the great honor of growing out Mossy's own purple jems (winter 2011) and Bad Betty's (red phenotype). I must say the purple jems under LED were some of the most sweet and floral buds I have ever consumed to this day. Sweeter and more savory than Bubba Kush in my humble opinion. The body stone is still almost unmatched to this day. I remember the betty's increasing the circulation in the back of my neck to the point where I could physically feel it the moment I exhaled. I am truly sorry I could not get a detailed journal or report of those two up here.

Since then, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Botany and moved to Colorado to fulfill my dream of having a meaningful career in the medical marijuana industry. I was hired on at one of the largest MMJ companies in Colorado as a Processing Manager (overseeing everything from chop to sale at retail level. Trim, dry, cure, packaging, transport, ect.). It was awe inspiring at first. Literally overseeing the harvest and processing of 250+ grade A plants everyday, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year.

After some time mass production of cannabis lost is magic. Everyone in the industry started out like me. They loved the cannabis plant for all of its beneficial properties. They loved to grow it, nurture it, and know that they are producing a wholesome alternative medicine to combat opiates. But reality of the industry is that there is not enough supply to meet demand. This leads to unmoral decisions being made to meet sales quotas. Applications of very powerful pesticides in late flower to save a crop, cutting before a flush and "flash drying" to restock shelves, lying about THC percentages to sell less than stellar buds, lying directly to customers about medicinal properties to ensure a sale, sending growers into CO2 enriched rooms with oxygen tanks that could fail at any minute because it is cheaper than ventilating out the CO2 and replenishing it, and many more examples. I do not want to demonize the medical and recreational cannabis industry. They do what they have to in order to keep bud on the store shelves. My issue was with the lack of regulation and concern for the end consumer. And after years in the industry autoflowers and LED's were still not being implemented on a mass production scale.

So I recently moved back home to pursue other avenues of life. And for the first time in many years I have started a home grow again :smoking:. Growing at a commercial level is nothing like growing at home. You get specialized in a certain task but are isolated to that one phase and slowly lose your knowledge of the other phases of growing. I have cured thousands of pounds of marijuana but literally was forgetting how to LST or germinate. There is such a sense of pride taking a plant from seed to smoke. I wanted that back.

So here I am again AFN. I have been lurking for quite some time and wanted to chime in and let you all know that I am so happy this is STILL the leading place to find accurate and helpful knowledge about autoflowering cannabis! This community is still as positive and welcoming as it was 7 years ago, albeit a bit larger :smokeout:. I truly cannot put into words how much this forum helped me progress as a grower and enriched my knowledge of autoflowers. I am truly thankful.

If you see me posting here and there don't be shy to say hi. Also, I am open to any questions about growing on a commercial scale.

I even have two Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate seedlings that just broke soil under my 600W led that I may start a journal for. Its like my first few grows all over again.

Much Love & Good Vibes,

-Roller

Hello Roller,

boy have you been gone a long while. Welcome back. I dare say @Mossy will remember you, but she is away in the UK for a while.

cheers............................eP.

What's up @RollerofDoobs good to meet you. Sounds like most stories you hear about the legal industry. I love the thought of being able to be full legal and what not but hate the agenda that's implied to it. Glad you're back in the saddle. Lets see that link to your journal
