Indoor The Life and Times of the Fantasmo Sisters - Soil

Day 51 Update
The sisters appear to be progressing nicely. No problems to report.

Here is a current photo of the smaller plant. She is 15" wide now and stands 11" tall. It's main stem is actually 17" long at this time.

And here's her sister (the larger plant). She's 20" wide now and 13.5" tall. Her main stem is actually 23" long.

And finally, here's a view from above. Looks like the start of cola wars.

I'll keep the updates coming.
Good growing everybody!

Day 64 - Update
Here's the latest view of the sisters. They're now 11 days out from the breeders "Harvest Date" and everything appears to be in good shape. The fans are fading and the flowers are swelling and packing on some weight. I'll probably end up harvesting the one with the more Indica-like pheno at 75 days and let the other run a bit longer. We'll see.

Day 75 - Update
Today is the breeder's "Harvest Date" and I figured I'd do a quick update. The smaller sister that has the more Indica-like appearance is finishing out ahead of the more Sativa-like one, as you might expect. I'm going to let the smaller plant go for a couple more days and the larger one maybe a week. No records being set here. My 12/12 flower cycle looks like it definitely held these plants back. The bud that has grown is really beautiful and nicely formed, just not as much as I had hoped for. When I get around to doing Autos again it will definitely be under an 18/6 light cycle, and probably under LED's rather than HPS.

After chopping the plants I'll do a slow cure down to the 62% humidity range, take some photos and measurements and then post my thoughts and final comments. Here's a photo of the main cola on the smaller plant.

Nice work LST4Me ...

Were these plants grown at 12/12 ?

Doesn't seem to have hurt them any .... :vibe:

Yes, Chester they were. They started out 18/6 for approximately 4 weeks then went 12/12 under 400w HPS for the duration of the grow. They were growing alongside several photo-sensitive plants that are still finishing out. This was more or less an experiment for me to see how they'd do growing alongside (and under the same conditions) as the photos. I've got six more Fantasmos to fire off at some point...but will probably modify my grow some before I do. I talk about that topic in a later post.

Just chopped the larger sister. See my next post for additional info and photos. I appreciate the rep points.

Day 90 - Update
First an update about the sister that I chopped at 75 days. As you could see from the earlier photos, the plant stayed quite small and had a very Indica-like appearance. She also had an incredibly sweet smelling flower and fat compact buds. Not many, but nice. Anyway, I did a slow dry down to 65% and threw it on the scale. It came out to 26 grams. If you allow a couple grams for what I sampled...it produced and ounce. But not just any ounce. This little plant produced some very wonderful top shelf smoke that will be a welcome addition to almost anybody's stash. I'll take the quality over the quantity any day. Here's a photo of the dried bud. I prefer to leave some of the leaves on the buds to protect the trichs from any damage. Kind of like a cigar wrapper. Note the purple tones.

15 days since I chopped the first plant, I have now taken the more Sativa-like sister. She continued to build and foxtail much much longer. Here's a photo, but it doesn't really do the plant justice. There is a lot of bud material you just can't see from this perspective. I'll follow-up later with some numbers, photos, and thoughts.

Wrap-up
I did a slow cure on the second sister down to 64% relative humidity and threw it on the scale. Total weight 44 grams. Strong, fast hitting, hazy taste. Here's a photo...

In conclusion...being that this was my first attempt at autos, and considering that they were flowered under a 12/12 light cycle, I have to feel okay about the results. Certainly no records here. I do feel that the 12/12 light cycle left an awful lot of potential on the table. The 12/12 light cycle gives up a third of the light time that an 18/6 light cycle has, so in my my simple way of thinking...I figure I gave up at least 1/3 of the potential. Fantasmo Express is extremely easy to grow. As Chester stated about his, "they pretty much grew themselves." I'll go along with that. You Memphisto fans are on the right track in my opinion. I'm going to go back to my photoperiod plants for now, but will revisit Autos again someday. Next time it will be under an 18/6 light cycle.

Good growing, everyone!
